[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Just driving around a really small town called Waterval Boven, we came across this old abandoned church. The town itself is steeped in Boer War history, built along the "Transvaal Republic's" (now called Mpumalanga) major railway line to Delagoa Bay (modern-day Maputo), and was fiercely contested by the British as the Boers retreated towards the end of the war. Visitors can take a walk through the historic ZASM tunnel through which the trains used to pass, and see a beautiful waterfall that cascades along the Elands River course. The route drops to the little town of Waterval Onder, where President Paul Kruger lived for a month before finally fleeing into exile and a lonely death in Austria in 1900.

Tech: Cropped slightly, desaturated and selectively coloured the sky and left over plastered area of the church. Added a frame. Hope you liked it.

A lovely shot and great PP work,nice idea to leave the plastered area which contrasts nicely with the blue sky.

Intresting and nice post process work Judy. Leaving the blue sky and yellow on the building was a good idea. They contrast well together.

I put this in the desaturate it theme, the contrast you have made is Great Workwell done Judy. I think I might have made the path to the church in color as well either way well done none the less.

A very unique sample of desaturation here Judy. Adds a lot of interest to the shot. Well done and very creative.

Strange but very effective PP work here. I sometimes wonder if these heavily PP'ed shots wouldn't be better as they were originally. But I guess not - or you wouldn't have decided to change the original. But it still would be nice to see it. Maybe as a WS posted in parallel. Or is that cheating?
