An explanation of the image is given with my previous upload with title "Castle in Hard Clouds". No coloured substances or material were used in obtaining these colours.

The only post processing was resizing and moderate subsequent sharpening.

What follows is a little technical so please only read futher if you are interested in how the colours are produced.

In addition to viewing the mainly colourless image in cross polarised light there, which made it visible by its interference colours, here a colourless transparent accessory plate was in addition inserted in the light path. The plate is highly polished with a thickness that, depending on the orientation of the atomic structure in relation to the polarization planes of the light, will either increase or decrease the distance that the slow light wave lags behind its accompanying fast wave by a fixed amount at each point in the image. This causes a new colour of the resultant wave formed by the interference of the slow and the fast waves. For this particular accessory plate, for example, a black interference colour in the previous image will be red here, and vice versa. No coloured substances were used in obtaining these colours which are diagnostic of the orientation of the atomic structure.

Hi Neels,

another great photo from the "hidden" world. It's amazing to think how the nature can appear in many different and sensational shapes and colours. The photos that you're introducing to us give well the extent of it.In this case a perfect synthesis of Mondrian and Klimt. The only negative detail is the scale, it's not possible to remove it?
