|Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is simply one of the most beautiful places on earth and rests within the embrace of Cape Town’s Table Mountain. |
Apart from unique flora - much of which can only be found here - the gardens also host a number of magnificent pieces of art, a range of summer concerts under the stars, (with a basket or two of red wine, smoked salmon and Italian sounding bread..) and birds that fly about bragging that they come from the most beautiful place on earth... grin.
Kirstenbosch was established in 1913 to promote the diverse flora of southern Africa. Within the 36 hectares, there are over 7 000 species in cultivation, including many rare and threatened species.
In 2004 Kirstenbosch became the first botanic garden in the world to be included within a natural World Heritage Site.
I'm a Capie, and I'm proud!

HI Maggi, it took me a minute to work out what the statue was of, maybe a closer pov slightly to the left so the statue is in more detail and you lose the oe sky. You have some great shades of green in this though. Fiona
