[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
That's my wife in the foreground at the front of the crowd at the gates of Todaiji temple. The picture was taken on one of the last days before the leaves started to fall in Nara.

It's amazing how many people flock to Todaiji. Then again, when you see how gigantic this temple is, you can understand. It can be a bit overwhelming.

In front of my wife is a a large group of people lighting incense before they enter the grounds.

Todaiji Temple holds the largest indoor standing Buddha statue. If you can, you must go during summer time's lantern festival at Todaiji. It's absolutely breathtaking to see the pathway to the temple lit up, with the windo for the Buddha's face to be seen, wide open, and hearing the monks' hymns.
