[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I'm testing my new circular polarizer today and took this silhouette of Kota Kinabalu City Port during sunset. The weather was not as preferable as I would like it but it was not really that bad.

Adjustments on tone curves only.

Regards,
Alvin

Alvin,
Considering the conditions this is a nice shot. The color in the clouds looks nice and I like the light reflection on the water.

Kevin

Hi Alvin,

i like the ripples & reflection on the water. a beautiful golden & warm colour.

just a matter of preference...i would love it more in horizontal view for a landscape/panorama shot to give a wider view.

well done & TFS

Agoes

Hello Alvin. Nicely captured in vertical format and I like the glow on the surface with silhouettes along the horizon gaining the perspective here. The sky and cloud look dramatic and very well done indeed. Regards. Jusni

hi Alvin

Good try on sunset view and the sky has given good warm color. I can see you have been trying in many ways to improve your skills and this one is one of more sunsets that I would expect you to take to show a great impact of the mood. You can think about various ways of composition and pov to give the best, such as reflections on still water and some trees or large vessels. The choice of setting will help you in how you will be rewarded with a good sunset. So choose many locations.

tfs, bill

A simple crop of either water or sky would have helped this tremendously for the 'thirds' look. TFS

of all the places to take sunset shot.. why port view? huhu.. this is one of the sunset yg not so cantik.. if me kan i wouldn't even bother to take it :D you should wait for the beautiful one.. nice try though.. hehe..

to take a beautiful sunset you must wait 5 to 10 mins after sundown than all the lovely colours come out.. usually best one after the rain.. but sometime even without the rain it still came out nicely.. nice try though..

regards, terry

Hi Alvin,
For a sunset shot, the cloud formation like what I see here is the one I prefer. Thick, puffy... you captured this scenery very well, especially with CPL attached to the lens. Very well done, bos. Lawa.

Ramdan.
