This is a picture from my favorite destination, Coco Palm Bodu Hithi Island Resort in Maldives, and more specifically a view of the Escape Water Villas.

99% turquoise water, 1% land with powder soft white sand, tropical coco palms and amazing underwater life: the evidence that paradise exists...

Hello Margarita

I like the colors and subject, But I think the rule of thirds would work better here, or even a panoramic crop. Still I like the huts on the right. nice

Hello Margarita,

Beautiful scenery. Most people don't like the horizon cutting the photo in the middle. Like Jimmy said, 1/3 rule. More sky. Other than that, awesome photo.

If you have PS CS5, try running HDR adjustment. It would really bring out the clouds.

Not so sure the rule of 1/3s is really that important here, Margarita.

Having the horizon higher in the frame, and you would've ended up losing the gentle water ripples against the shore. Any lower in the frame, and you'd have lost the dramatic effect of the cloud formation.

Perhaps a lower viewpoint altogether may have combated the dilemma, but, then would the details in sea have also been lost.

Fine effort, with beautiful light.

Boa tarde Margarita,

Beautiful beachscape, very beautful colors, excellent light.
I did a WS and hope you don't mind.
Best regards,

I like your composition Margarita,it gave me a good understanding of what I would be greeted with, if I were to visit this paradise.Beautiful yellow sands, transparent turquoise water, wonderful blue skies with bright white clouds,& those Villas look real inviting.I like how both the lines of the waters edge & the darker one of the horizon, leeds the eye to the villas, keeping our attention from moving out of the scene.Well done for me.

This is beautiful Margarita. Great composition, wonderful color, dof, detail in the huts above the water. Wish I was there. TFS, Lori
