Yes, it's tilted, but, that's because the hill is inclined at a 30 degree angle! Taken at the back of Mirage Tourist Ger Camp in Terelj NP. This region had its driest Spring in decades, so the grass is a sickly shade of yellow ochre, rather than a lush carpet of green.

Here, you can see the effect of the polarizing filter at left, but with less effect at right where the sunlight is. I've already uploaded the single shot I took, panning more to the left, to get a uniform, deep blue sky. The compo was more important than the lighting to me, in this shot.

Hi Chris,

Diagonally placed subject (the hill with these wonderful rocky structures) make this work so eyecatching!

Great sharpness, perfect contrast to the rich blue sky and well done POV. The colors are perfectly natural. Very well spotted!

best regards,
Paras

Hi Chris,

I wonder how the current El Nino phenomenon is affecting this locale. I am enjoying your Mongolia series, the rock formations are incredible. Fantastic blue sky, the slope is interesting and must be difficult to hike. Cheers!

haha! I knew it wasn't tilted! The rocks still go UP! A steep climb for you Chris! Nice shot, could be someplace in Arizona, New Mexico or even Texas. Nice diagonal line here!

Hi Chris,

I like the diagonal flow of this, the rocks look like they're trying to keep from sliding down the incline. Nice color contrasts and composition.

Werner
