shot near the "quan yin" (goddess of mercy) temple in waterloo street...
there are many flower vendors in this place but this old man caught my attention...his posture...weathered features and sad expression...

these is the type of street photos that i like best, capturing people at their most natural...but somehow the photos tend to look gloomy or gritty, something that i hav been trying to avoid and photograph more cheerful scenes cause my gallery seems to lack that :)

His expression tells a thousand words! I would'nt be able to resist buying from that chap!! Also B/G colours blend lovely with main subject!

Love the sharpness of this shot! the backgrond and foreground merge together perfect!

well done

Hi my friend,
that's so impressive - this face, the mine of him realy hoping, somebody will buy this flowers. A wonderful moment but also a little sad, he seems to be very poor. I would have bought the flowers, sure! Thanks for sharing, I send you my best wishes from the very cold Germany, brrrrrrr, but we don't have snow, Christmas would be perfect with snow, so keep your fingers crossed for us, bye

Very good street photo. It really tells a story. So not really everything I saw 15 years ago went away...

Hi BK,

This shot remind me of someone, someone used to be in here that we miss dearly. I just have a dejavo when I see this shot, I seen it before.... because of the face of the old man and his expression.

Anywya, my dear Koh, it is a wonderful shot, you have always amaze me with your photos of people, this is no exception. Well done my friend, well done. Thanks for sharing

Hi Xu,
Nice colourful photography. The pose is so natural and the look on the face of this man is so expressive. The background and the empty space around your main subject and the deepness of the overall image make the picture very interesting and sensitive. I agree with Tibi, it really tells a story.

Powerful catch :)

Hi BK,

Very good details and DOF. This is a superb catch. The expression on the man's face is excellently captured. Thanks for sharing.

hi wenqing.
this is your another great street photos that look solid sharp, focus & perfect capture of the moment.
my own opinion for this image is to include more body of the lady if to look less gritty or gloomy:)

Good portrait & daily life scene with excellent sharpness, colour, lighting & an attractive shallow dof. Tfs & Merry Xmas!

Yes, I'll take a dozen! Wonderful shot Xu! Looks like a hard way to make a living! Wonderful detail in his eyes and body!

The image quality here is fantastic. The Dof works well. But I do wish the person on the left was in or out, you follow?
Well done

Hi BK,
What an excellent expression in this shot!
Very sharp and contrasty and rich image thanks to good technique and that wonderful 80-200.
If possible I would have cropped less of the flower side of the image and shown more of the tourist being offered (forced almost) flowers and cropped more of the other side. Although that stool does look intersting - I don't know too hard!
Great photo mate!

Wonderful pic! Might have added more depth if the lady passing by was included. That aside, this is almost a perfect shot: Colours, composition, subject isolation, expression .. all top notch. Thanks for sharing.
