Buddha Disciple Statues, at Bomunsa Temple on Seokmodo Island, west of Ganghwado Island, also west of Seoul. Taken last April. There were hundreds of these statues & all of them were unique, with no 2 the same. From Wikitravel: "Bomunsa (보문사). High up on Seokmodo Island, this temple is located in a scenic grotto with rock carvings and is famous as a place for women to pray for sons. Getting there is half the fun: take a bus from Ganghwa-eup to Oepo-ri (30 min, every 30 min), cross by ferry to Seokmodo (W2000; 10 min, every 30 min), and then take a shuttle bus (W1000) to the temple. 1500 won"

There was no shuttle bus when I visited, but Korean drivers were kind enough to drive me the short distance to & from the temple.

Hello Chris,
The painting on the scultures is looking interesting in this post. Perhaps, old statues were make uped, I don't know. But this one is sure looking nice. A beautiful documentary shot in fine details and interesting PoV, well done my friend. Thanks for sharing.
Best Regards,
Inaam

First : Clever choice of pov.
I really like the contrast with colors and the statues.
The light management is very good and show us the details perfectly.
Great work Chris !

Hi Chris,

Interesting photo of interesting statues. Green beards is a first I must say! Well seen and captured.

Good one Chris ... nice use of shallow DOF. Good focus on the front statue, with the others blurred in the BG. Nicely composed too.
In China now? have a good year!

A razor-sharp shot with amazing POV, Chris!
Great focus on the statue with nice details.
The emerging colors add nice mood into the scene.
Well done!

Greetings,
Paras
