[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A portrait shot of one of the two Thai beauties hired by the Bangkok Photographic Society as models during our Ayutthaya trip. She's wearing a Thai costume.

For this shot, my brother hurriedly fitted his 80-200 lens to my D70. This is how I attained a good bokeh.

For some certain reason, I like this shot very much.

Manny, this is an exceptionally excellent shot, the focus of the image is fantastic, I think the nuance of the image comes from the fact that, the angle places the girl at the left of the frame with a slight tilt of the face, giving the picture incredible warmth and life.
You should like this shot, it is great.
Well done.

A real beauty Manny. Very nice shot. DoF is good and i like the soft colour of the background. It compliments her skin colour and bring forth her jewllery in a good way. I like the slight tilt of her head and her direct relaxed look in to the camera.

Btw - congrats to your DPC ribbon :)

I like this shot too Manny. I think this is a pretty classic looking shot, very well done. To my eyes, her skin is a little too red. That could be make up, I am not certain. The bokeh is beautiful, as you say, but from what I have read, the 80-200 actually produces quite inferior bokeh to the 70-200 you now own. Did I mention I am jealous?

BTW Manny, I think you should really consider bringing the 70-200 with you to Scandinavia. Or, if you want to travel light, but be able to get shots similar to this, maybe you would consider an 85mm f1.8 lens as a lighter addition to your stable. Of course, it is pretty easy for me to spend your money. I just know I wouldn't be caught dead on a trip without a long lens for shots of people.

Great portrait Manuel,

I like the focus and the girl.. off course :)

Well done

Great portrait Manuel, excellent colours an very sharp, my compliments.

I like this picture too, Manny. She is beautiful, and she is very well captured. The gold matches perfectly her skin and her green shirt. There is a nice light in her eyes. Very well done.

Nice portrait Many. The woman is very beautiful. Nice colors and very sharp photo. Well done

Un bien joli portrait pour une bien jolie personne. Très belle composition Manny. Les couleurs sont parfaites. Vous êtes un excellent portraitiste Manny.

For many reasons, I like this shot, too. Her expression is smiling, but it seems more natural than a "look at the camera and smile" expression. The composition is very strong, and as usual, you seem to capture the personalities of the individuals you photograph.

did not see this one yesterday :-( great DOF and focus, compo and frame but i am not the least attracted to the model...;-( thus it is not my favorite shot... sorry:-) oups! hope you are not cross at me;-)

BTW what is bokeh?

Really pleasant face. I love the textures. The costum and earings really well enhance the softness of the face. Great portrat to my mind Manny. You make such wonderful pictures, would you mind mentionning the technical setup of your lens for this shot ?

Amazing eye's you spotted and captured here - very fine portrait and Yes of course due to a very beautiful model - but mostly be course of you great technics - thanks for sharing Manuel.

This is so LIVE!
The soft light on the face, the wet shine in the eyes and on the lips, the eye-contact with the wonderful smile, the blurred background, and the cropping make this portrait a very special one and create a live personality.
Great job, Manuel!
