[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the Carnival Cruise Lines ship "Fascination," docked at Nassau in the Bahamas. I was aboard another ship just across the water from her and did my best to shoot a longish exposure without benefit of a tripod. My lens wasn't wide enough to capture the whole ship, so I shot the stern and bow with an overlap, and stitched them together in Photoshop CS. Cropped, sharpened, adjusted levels and curves.

Great shot, Robert! I love the lights reflected in the water, and the lights strung across the top of the ship! I can't see the stitch either. These ships are just magnificent.

Wow! Great shot Robert. I think you've done a perfect job of getting both the shots and also of stitching them together seamlessly. The colours and light are amazing, they have been perfectly captured. The shapes, light, reflections and clouds all go together very well. Great work. TFS.

Magnificant Shot Robert! U have captured it beautifully and the PP is amazing without even a single clue except for the note :) Beautiful colors... The silver (I wont call it white) ... The blue... Excellent panorama. I like how it darkens towards the right end - that conveys the sense that night is falling (and night falls quickly in the tropics). Thanks for post - very impressive shot.

Sorry, just a photostitched shot of a cruise ship at night. Obviously photoshop altered.
I wouln't get too excited about not seeing joints. Photostitch does a good job.

I really like this shot, the reflections in the water and the color really stand out. Nice job, would not be able to tell you had stitched it together.

Hello Robert,

I just noticed this image as I was opening TL. Have you ever tried creating a panorama shot by combining multiple images? That would enable you to photograph the entire length of the ship in various shots, then put them together. It's a part of this technology that I find very cool. I'm kind of a provincial and am still in awe of many of these digital technologies. My HP comptuer comes with a software to do that and I'm sure there are many others that can do the same thing.

Well done with the PP stitching. The only way to know that it is a composition is looking at the lamp line over the ship, where there is a "dent".

The overall composition and colors are good.
