[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
"Sorry, my mind went to the Bahamas for a minute" . . . Not original, but a line I use if I get caught not paying attention during a conversation. It's January; my daughter's mid-February wedding is quickly bearing down on us, and our visit to the Bahamas last November seems eons ago. Our cruise ship passed this lighthouse on our way into the port at Nassau.

PP work--I certainly considered cropping the slice of sky, but didn't. I had to rotate(-.75), saturate(40), reduce midtones(-40), and increase contrast(10). After resizing, I didn't sharpen this time, becuase it made the shot look over-sharpened, as if the beach were made of needlepoint fabric.

The whhite light house jumps out well here.
This year I had a talk with a light house keeper and he told me all the light houses will be history soon due to GPS..

Hi Karen, quite often depending on the PP work and the resizing sharpening is not needed. Superb blues and the white of the lihjthouse stands out proudly. Well composed and lovely detail. TFS,

Hi Karen,
Colors, saturation and contrast are all great...the lighthouse stands out very well and looks really nice against the dark blue. Composed well, captured well. Nice shooting.

Good luck with your daughters wedding...my daughters wedding is in August and they have nothing taken care of yet or any plans settled on lol.

Hi Karen. Great composition -- very good FG interest opening into the open sea. The extreme white on the lighthouse is OK, but not perfect. I'm just reading a book about correct exposure right now and am therefore more critical of exposure topics. It makes me more critical of my own work too. The more I learn the more critical I become.
