West of Belmopan the capital of tiny Belize is a region of pastoral beauty called Cayo . This photo was taken in the vicinity of Spanish Lookout a large spreading village some 5 miles north of the Western Hwy itself leading to the Guatemala border. All around the village are gravel roads that will obviously take you to dead ends by a river or some dense jungle as much as it can be flat and almost deprived of ( human ..) life but it is certainly not and mostly given over to fields of corn or what ever can be grown .
Anyway here is a photo of one of the narrow lanes criss-crossing the landscape of Cayo District . I have a color version but prefer it in black and white . My contribution to the theme of this week .
Thanks for looking,
Carol

A superb view with such a wonderful shape of tree in such vast plains, Carol!

Great details and mood is immense in the scene.
The sharpness and POV are excellent, and light is very well handled.
A well suited entry to Friday's theme!

Have a nice weekend.

Greetings,
Paras

Hi Carol

Good daily life scene from Central America with a great tonal range & excellent sharpness & graphism. A more than suitable entry in the Friday b&w theme. Have a nice weekend!

Awesome capture of this beautiful scene although looking at the dirt road makes me feel so lonely, maybe because of the absence of people. Great composition and good dof with nice contrast. Well done, tfs.

Hi Carol, I like the large tree on the side of the white road, you really want to follow that white ribbon. Fiona

Hi Carol,
A nice capture of the view from a good vantage point. I like the feeling you captured here, an endless road cutting through a lonely landscape to the distant hills. Good one.

Bom dia Carol
I don┤t resist to tell somewords about this photo. The first is I liove it. a " regard" to a world...it is Belize but it could be in some many places, Very well composed leading our minds to the things we care and really amazing of this world.Love your B/W choice, Fine sharpness , good play with light and shadows...the tree has an artist shape and that road...everything can be so symbolic. It is as your camer trough your eyes had touch the place and now it is our turn to be touched. I love it.

Dear Carol

Lovely landscape post in B&W with good tonal range. Good DOF. Nice detail and character on the tree in the foreground. The long, narrowing path adds to the sombre mood of this post.

Excellent entry!

Kind regards,
Taryn

Ciao Carol, lovely B&W composition, excellent clarity, fantastic perspective and splendid light, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Many thanks Carol for your nice comments to my pictures :)

Hi Carol,
Interesting image, looks like an old black & white print. The road draws one deep into the scene wondering where does it lead too?
