|Sonja Knips is one of my favourite klimt's portraits.|
i love the colours, the atmosphere, the square form of it (i think it was his first square painting but i'm not sure for that)but what i find interesting and very attractive is the way he painted the dress, which look so real that you want to touch it.as i read one of the most important details in this painting is the red small notebook that sonja holds in her right hand(unfortunately, you cannot see it here). it was klimt's personal notebook and he gave it to sonja as a present...as the "experts" says that is revealed a relationship between klimt and sonja.
the painting is exhibited in Belvedere Gallery in Vienna.
photographs weren't permitted in the gallery but when i saw the reflection of the window and the deep purple in the painting i couldn't resist...unfortunately,i hadn't the chance to set the proper settings and the photo is quite dark...anyway, i like the light coming from the window and the bright purple...
have a nice weekend
