Hi Francis.
I have a steam railway literally outside my gate so am not suprised someone has shown this today, I was tempted but now glad someone else has.
Steam and history have been well documented, I was one of those boys of 9 years old collecting steam train numbers, standing on bridges when they went by and taking in that special scent. It was a living, breathing thing, the steam engine, the noise, so magical.
We have 3 engines here on a track that take tourists from Paignton to Dartmouth in Devon. Its so popular as the children have never seen or heard anything like it before.
High sharpness and detail from your HDR treatment, I like the way the light enables us to appreciant the textures and structure of this fine engine. tfs

Hello Francis,
The steam played vital role in the industrial revolution in Europe and you've chosen an interesting motif for Friday's theme. A beautifully taken image in sharp details and bright day light composition. Nice contribution for the theme, well done. Thanks for sharing.
Kind Regards,
Inaam

Hi Francis,
I share Steve's nostalgia about the steam engine era. One of my early photo's as a child was a B&W of a steam locomotive with the driver letting out steam specially for me. The activity, colours, patterns and shapes are a pleasure to view. Best wishes.

Hello Francis, just as in Eleu's shot, the steam really adds atmosphere to the picture.
Your low PoV creates the feeling of weight and power.
The tight crop is very effective.
Excellent sharp quality.
Tfs, regards Jean.

What a fantastic contribution to Friday's theme, Francis!
I like the steam coming out of the engine and the richness of the colors are have obtained in here.
Sharpness and DOF are excellent, and colors are natural.
Good job!

Hi Francis, where are your signature colors - !!!!
A great presentation and contribution to the Fridays Theme. I loved those locomotives - they were so much more exciting than these racing trains with - I do not know what kind of speed. - In the olden days you had time to take in the scenery, thelittle villages - you were talking to newcomers and say Good Buy to the ones that arrived at their destinations. - it was just an exciting and comforable mood to travel.
Thanks for sharing - kindest regards and have a nice weekend - MOnika

I can still smell the steam trains. It is one of those smells that will always remain with me. They existed in magical times and it is so good that people devote their time to continue their existence. TFS
