[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A scene on the dyke of Westende, Belgium today. While the woman was enjoying a rest, her husband was waiting patiently for her. I liked the scene, thought it was a pretty and a sweet sight.

I will add the original as a workshop.
Your comments, tips and workshops are greatly appreciated!

Tech:
* removed noise with neatimage
* cropped quite a bit of the "floor" and the sky
* increased brightness and contrast
* added a "gradient map" layer
* added border
* added text
* sharpened
* resized
* saved for web

~~Update~~
I remade the whole thing with a correction of 1°CW for the tilt in the horizon. See workshop for this corrected version.

Thanks a lot for all your comments and critiques!

nice and full of tenderness image.....
like an interpretation of the love in other times...
I like your horizontal cut but why didn't you correct the tilt sea? anyway I like it
well done
Paolo

I've seen the tilt, but I like so much your composition that you deserve my 2 points!. Great job!

Great composition Annelise and very impressive tone you have added to this photo.
This photo does look like a very old picture ... great work
bravo
sarju

I like this sensual composition!
It is speaking even without a word.
The tilt is 'felt' much stronger in the cropped version.
You key image is a good one too.
Well seen, Annelies!

Looks like scan from some old newspapers.
I like this kind of mood.
Objects and compositions is OK, also B/W tritones.
I like dimensions on picture.
Leaving more space from left you make a point on the objects from right side.
(you can look similar tehnique on one of my picture).
Pitty for wrong angle of horizon.

Annelies, bonjour,
Très content de te retrouver avec cette splendide photo - superbe composition et superbe panorapa - Très bon travail de PP -
Bravo
Gaby

Beautiful work, Annelies !
The horizontal panoramic format and the soft pink colour are a great success.
Well done.
Sylvie

Hey Annelies,
I really like your PP work here. The original capture of this sweet scene is something special as well:)
About the adjustment layer...Okay, say you have a Curves Adjustment layer...In the layers pallete, there will be 2 little boxes next to the word "Curves"...double click on the left box, it should pop open the dialog box with your adjustments stored still. Hope this helps, I'm trying to tell you from memory since I am at school and don't have PS to look at :) In fact, if you don't like the changes in the adj. layer, you can hold down the "Alt" key, which will change the "OK"(I think, it says "OK") button to "Reset"...click on it, and it will restore the settings to default. Or you could just erase the whole adjustment layer and start over, whichever you prefer:) Hope this helps;)

Also this "long" one is a beauty, nice composed and an "old" colour used. I saw the original, but that one, only with these people and nothing else is a great one too !

Très grande et sobre composition que tu nous offre ici Annelies ... tout respire la paix intérieure et l'horizon nous éloigne de ce monde de fou ... bravo!
Antonio

hi annelies,
what a touchy pic is this, a very nostalgic atmosphere,because of the colors maybe.and the format suits the subject as well.
regards

Hoi Annelies,
Dit ademt een enorme rust uit. Over de horizon is genoeg gemopperd ;-)
Mooi!

Strong crop Annelies and very pleasing toning.

Conveys a nice mood.

Hello Annelies,
Great composition of simple lines and two lovely bikers.. Peaceful and relaxing.. Thanks for this..
Best wishes..

I love the postures of the couple. She sitting like she whished her warm chair was in reach. He waiting gently, maybe also wishing for that chair ;). Ahh you can make up hundreds of stories with this photo...it tells a lot...lot of different stories ;)

A very nice one Annelies, beautiful composition all the way. To see those two old persons standing there watching the sea, with the bicyles add a lot to the composition.
Best regards
Guy

mooi beeld, je hebt dat goed gezien, comp past prachtig bij dit beeld, (*_*)

Annelies,
This is a very touching photo. It says so much about life and love. It tells a story about love being patient and long lasting. It is well composed and seems as if they are the only two people on the planet.
Good Job!

Unusually done with composition! Sea level & block have shown the process... very well done!

It's a very nice shot, Annelies, with a great atmosphere. Your panoramic crop is a very good idea, your composition works very well like that.
You did an excellent PP on tones and frame, really I like it :)

I like the way you cropped it into a panoramic view. Sepia tones add more feel to that, TFS!

A great photo! Here are some lyrics from WEST END GIRLS by the "Pet Shop Boys":

In a west end town, a dead end world
The east end boys and west end girls
A west end town, a dead end world
East end boys, west end girls
