Dear colleagues, today I shall give a last image of the Plitvice Lakes.
Thank you for viewing these pictures and I hope you have fun.
In closing I wish you will give some details about this exceptional place.

The Plitvice name was first mentioned in 1777 by Dominik Vukasović, the pastor of Otočac writing. The Plitvice lakes owe their name to the natural phenomenon that created the lakes. The natural next step was creating shallow basins lakes, and ultimately, by the fact that the water in the landscape einschmiegte or impounded by travertine barriers was always higher. Some the river Plitvica back, which flows into the lakes. A nearby village has the same name. The waters of Plitvice Lakes continue on their way as Korana River in a northerly direction.

The National Park is world renowned for its lakes are arranged in a cascade of which are visible on the surface is currently 16th. These were formed by the confluence of several small rivers, and through underground karst tributaries. The lakes are arranged along a direction of flow are separated by natural barriers, a feature and a unique feature of natural processes. The most unstable limestone barriers caused by an interplay of running water, air and vegetation.

The various climatic influences, and the large difference in height within the protected area lead to a very diverse flora and fauna. In the national park area are generally found above all, many endemic species. At the lakes continue to exist, all species that were located before the appearance of the people there.

Similar phenomena are observed near the Plitvice Lakes in Rastoke Slunj in Croatia Krka National Park or the River Pliva in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Also, the Band-e Amir lakes in the Hindukush form a similar sea-dam system, but there are other operations of Travertinbildung destroyed. Kalksinterbildung non-fluvial nature also takes place at the Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park in the U.S. or at Pamukkale in Turkey.

Hello Adrian,
spectacular view! In this nice composition, the water falls is placed at one side - that is somewhat different. I like the variation of green due to light falls on this.
Excellent!

Thanks and regards,
abhijit.

Hi Adrian,I find this very appealing, even as the smaller version. The waterfall is the key focus for this image. Falling into such a lake looks wonderful. TFS. Murray.

good composition, color and sharpness.

Hi Adrian,
This photo brought back memories from 20 years ago when I visited the Plitvice lakes. I was just a little boy, but have great memories of the place. I heard that the war did destroy parts of it.
The color of the photo are a bit of, the photo is tilted to the left and the exposure isn't perfect, but this photo shows what this wonderful place is all about.
TFS,
Niek

And... another great scene having green colours. The exposure also great here that you could freze the movements!
TFS and have a nice day!
Cheers,

Bayram
