Behind the next bend

I walked pasted this trail a couple of weeks ago and made a mental not to revisit with my camera. I did so a couple of days ago and was lucky enough that the light was behaving nicely.
This trail is so dark and moody because the light is pretty much non existing due to the dense forestation of pine trees.

Hello, Jens -
Fantastic atmosphere and mood. The muted lighting gives an intimate feel to the dense green forest. Perfect POV to capture the trail disappearing around the bend. Very beautiful image.

Hi Jens,
Yes I would be weary about walking this trail between dusk and dawn... The light is fantastic and creates a sinister mood, beautifully composed shot with great DoF and subdued colours. TFS

Hi Jens,
Exceptional image. Splendid lavet.
Usædvanlig farve og klarhed.
Efteråret. Jeg havde andre farvepaletter.
Hilsen,
Adrian

great atmosphere
Beautiful picture, the lighting is superb.

Wonderful atmosphere. These are the places I love to dwell for hours.

I'm sure that around the next bend must be another beautiful photo opportunity.

Regards,

Nathalie

Hi Jens,

I agree all the people's comments.

Well Done!

A Wonderful capture and perspective an
amazing atmhosphere. Impressive job!! TFS. Carme.

Hi Jens,

fantastic shot with excellent light. Strong composition attracting eyesight to the center to let it slide to the left along the path. Making you curious what's behind the curve? Good balance due to fg spot lit a bit, adding additional anchoring spot. Optimal colour saturation (was adjusted during pp, or it's just like it came from the camera?). Bravo! tfs

Marek

P.S. It was a very good idea to get back there with your Canon... :-D

Hello Jens

Great capture of this trail. I feel like I am looking thru a window. Nice work

Jimmy

Lovely shot, Jens. Like the Thomas Kincaid look here as he always paints with the light backdrop. No obvious errors or any problems, just a great photo. Perhaps the centered nature might have lent itself to better use of thirds is the only suggestion I might have. TFS

I liked it , Jens ! TFS.
Kind regards, um abraço!

This is my kinda shot Jens! VERY moody and almost has a scary "bigfoot" element to it! Love the low tones with the light just coming in at a certain point, to draw your eyes in! Beautiful! Adding you to my Light Theme!

Hi Jens,
What a beautiful "clair-obscur" in this path!
You captured so well this unique moment where the light bursts through the dense forest. Excellent exposure for the rendering of this ambiance.
Despite the low light, the details are clear. Your composition pays tribute at this incredible beauty!
Bravo! Annie

beautifully romantic lovely light and great colour definition. Janos

Definitely a terrific shot here Jens, the ambient light and the richness of colours - perfectly captured. A real sense of depth and presence.

Hi Jens Amazing photo fantastic shot with excellent composed and very good and lucky timing beautiful photo

I know it's a bit late, but I only just caught-up with this image.

It is truly breathtaking. The lighting, colours and mood being shown here is simply superb.

Please take the time to visit this location again and take more images, I'm sure they'd be worth further submissions.

TFS.
Shane.

You perfectly captured the "soul" of a pine tree forest, Jens. Its utter darkness, that can become so magic when the sun timidly breaks through.
Your light management is spot on, as is your composition (I like the square format!). The bend in the trail still enhances the mystery.
This is what photography is about, in my opinion: it is more than just a matter of technical skill, it also is about mood. Yes: mood!
TFS & kind regards,
Erik
