[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I've been away from TL for a little more than 18 months now. I wouldn't say that I've missed it but I've thought about TL quit a lot and about how TL helped me with my photography some 4 years ago when I first joined.

Since then I've come a long way. I'm now a professional photographer. Yeah, who isn't, right?

I'm working full time as a photographer. I'm not shooting everyday, not even close. I'm probably spending more time cold calling, having meetings, nurturing clients and trying to keep my business going than I'm actually spending time shooting.
When I am shooting I'm shooting portraits and products in my new studio and doing editorial photo and video on everything from manufacturing to sport events.

I wouldn't say that I get the same joy out of shooting as I used to. I rarely shoot photos of my children and family anymore. And when I do, it's usually with my IPhone or a compact camera.
I do get tons of joy out of hunting down new opportunities, pleasing my existing clients and seeing my business grow.

I didn't post this to gloat or shine. I posted this because, many times I've thought that I should pay homage to TL for getting me into gear and teaching me many things about photography. If it hadn't been for TL I'm not sure that I would be running a small but profitable photography business today. So, thank you TL and every and all current and future members!

For those of you who read through that bit of 'self adornment' here's a bit of info about the photo.

It's a photo of Morten and his '64 Mustang. I met Morten randomly and when chatting realized that he drove this awesome car. I asked him if he'd be interested in some super cool photos of him driving it and he said 'YES PLEASE!'

It's shot from the backseat of my own car while one of Mortens friends was driving. We were probably doing about 40kmn/h, whatever that is in m/h)

Not too much retouching other than some color correction and a crop.

Yes, the horizon is tilted :)

Hello Jens,
first of all - great action shot, nice colors and movement you have captured here.
And congratulations that you have achieved to be what you wanted to be starting on TL and learning for the past 4 years.
I admire that kind of people - you have a goal - go ahead and do it - do not cry and sit at home.
Hat off - all the best and lots of sucess for the future.
Regards Caesar

It's about 25mph :-)

You always were one of the most inventive photographers on Treklens and it's genuinely a thrill to see you back here again. I'm impressed by the sharpness on the car at 1/20 especially when you were being driven along like that. Great background blur, saturation very cool and a great note as well. I'm kinda lost for w0rds, just great to see you posting and interesting to read about your progression to being a true pro.

Hello Jens

Welcome back, I love the image here showing movement. Great job on the entire composition. Thanks for coming back. Have always enjoyed your work.

Jens,

I think the note is the most natural and interesting that I read!
Congratulations on your new job as a photographer, it's great to do the work you love.
As you explained how you took this picture, I understand the story better, and I really like these strong colors.
The car and driver are the star and the bg seems to go fast, this is excellent.
Funny and yes, very cooL photo.
Amazing impact, unusual idea.

Wow!! Congratulations on your photography endeavors. I have truly missed your creative photographs on treklens. Your photos are always food for thought and this one is no exception! The photo wouldn't be the same without the tilted horizon...super job!! I'm not as courageous as you doing the "driving shots" but kudos to you! Hope to see more of your work! Lisa

Perfectly executed moving vehicle image. At first glance I assumed it was taken with a camera rig. The colors and sense of movement are fantastic. Congratulations on your success with photography.

Hello Jens,
An impressive shot ! The perspective, the speed effect, the bright colours, the perfect sharpness of the man and his car,... One of the most dynamic shot I have seen.
Congratulations and all the best for you.
Kind regards
Jean

Hi Jens - welcome back and well done to get where you are today.

Great image, even with a wonky horizon (just joking), strong colour, sharp subject and great BG. I've been wanting to do something like this myself for a while but you beat me to it. Besides, I don't know anyone with a Mustang boo hoo...

Cheers
DAvid

I've always been a fan of your work Jens - won't ever forget the Insomnia series! Always so inventive and imaginative.
Congratulations on your achievements - wishing you much success with your business.
This photo stands up to all the others. .. intersting subject, great action, and sharp colors.
Would love to see you continue to post here on occasion.
Trudy

glad to see a new great post from you...
I'm not on TL anymore, just coming on the forum to see if there is something new. except your presence, nothing ;)
that's definitively a cool shot. yes it's tilted... and who cares? it's perfect like that. the panning is great, and i like this detail of the tree: the timing is lucky (?) and it's a true pleasure to look this photo. I thing Morten is more than satisfied to get such a portrait of him conducing this beautiful car. the saturation is just right, colors pop up and it's natural... it's a perfect take ;)

Hello Jens,

Just popped ion to discover this beauty. I had to write a line or two. I am also away for some time. Too many other duties are keeping me away from the site , and photographying.

Congratulations not only for this gorgeous shot, but for your important decisions. I am positive you will be a successful pro.

I sincerely wish you all the best in your new career.
Robert
