[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
There are some shots you can't get yourself to do much to. This one was neither cropped nor reworked. It is just a French dune on the Atlantic coast, as caught from the ferry on its way into Calais harbour.
I enhanced the contrast, clarified a bit and saturated the colours slightly after resizing. I also ran it through NeatImage to get a noiseless sky. But this is exactly the way it looked. And I am quite amazed to be able to get this down to 93 kb.

Well I think there must have been quite some noise here... I do see seagulls don't I :)
The threefold division of your photo is well done, and the dunes and the bunker are well placed at thirds.
A photo according to the rules!

The neat image made the sand look nice and smooth and the dark sky gives great contrast to the beach and the grass.

Oh, this is a very nice view. Approaching the beach from the sea. I like how you got all that negative space in the dark sky, which makes a good composition. I like the layered look you have achieved. Well done Per.
The seagulls look so tiny ... are they seagulls or small rocks. I'm not sure.

Très jolie scène avec ce ciel gris superbe et cette dune de sable dépouillée. Belle composition. Bravo!
Bye, Jacques

I did not want to missed this one Per. Beaches were my prefered spots on earth :) But not any more 'cause of my skin counter-reaction. This photo here is fantastic cause of the many layers : water, bubbles, sand, birds, vegetation, cloud, cloud and cloud - each one of nice tone. A perfect compo that have retained my attention. Congrats for all and many thanks. (... i will have to come back for the pts.)

what a nice view!threathning sky thoug!good compo and colours!

humm,Neatimage~that's why i supposed the sky was a little unrealistic:) nice shoot from the Atlantic coast, the horizonal lines shaped good, and what's the white spots over there? sea-gulls?anyway,i like them...
cheers,
xu
