I was walking in the rain, I saw this red umbrella, I immediately knew that I will do a partial desaturation.

I took several photos and I thought this one was the best compared to the position of the red umbrella in the scene.

Then I tried the HDR. I merged 3 images.

This is the result. I like, looks like a drawing with black pencil on grainy paper.

A mix of HDR and partial desaturation. My first time with this experiment.

Hi Daisy,
a great view of a rainy day in Paris. the red umbrella against the desaturated BG works really well
cheers
Jack

Hi Daisy,
The red being a strong focal point against the de-saturated entity. Nicely detailed and a good crop.

Bonjour Daisy,

Profitez.

Hi Daisy

Great shot. Wet pavements always seem to photograph very well. What can I say that you don't know and what hasn't been said already?

Like this image very much, Paris is one of my favourite places,
and you have captured the essence, with this shot.
Best Wishes.
Mike

Daisy... tres bien (I think that's right, my French is not good, in fact, it is non-existant).
I like what you've done with an image that, without the red umbrella, would be rather boring. The B&W conversion, increased contrast, how the light reflects off the floor, and of cours, the lone splash of colour makes the image striking.
