[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note

Although I not religious myself, I do like visiting religious buildings. The atmosphere is often tranquilizing and except from the photographically architectural beauty also a place to contemplate.

Anyway, the special soft light invites often to make some shots, particular without artificial light.

Here the church in the centre of Landshut, a town which I visiting this week again. The weather looks good, who knows I'm able to makes some more pictures of this nice Bavarian village.

Picture taken hand held with 1/60 sec, f/9.0 and ISO 400ASA.

PP work, adjusted levels and curves, corrected the lens distortion. Resized and used USM for sharpening. In the WS you will find a B&W version of this image. I personal prefer the coloured one. And you?

Hi Hans,

Wat een prachtig sereen plaatje. De stilte komt je tegemoet!!
Mooi vastgelegd! Goed gebruik gemaakt van het binnenkomende daglicht.

I love this, because of the mood. I have no idea why she is there, whether she is hurting, or just resting, but it does have mood! The tall crop gives an idea of just how big this church is! Very nice work Hansie!

Hi Hans,

I'm a bit like you in this respect, and I also appreciate the architecture of religious buildings. The lighting does set an interesting mood, but I think your choice of vertical framing provides a sense of how small humans are in the scheme of things. Nice concept and execution.

Best regards,

Hi Hans,
contemplative and peaceful. I love this shot, the light and the shadows, I can "hear" the silence. A beautiful gothic building. You will not find many of gothic churches here in my area, we have plenty of amply decorated churches here in the West of Bavaria around Memmingen. Have you ever heard of the Basilica of Ottobeuren, very famous and about 5 km far away from my home.
Thanks for this wonderful shot, enjoy the evening

Hi Hans,
Very good use of available lighting in this church with this person in contemplation.
Nice composition with the benches and the magnificent architecture with a nice play with shadows.
A very neat presentation enclosed in this elegant strait white margin.
My best regards,

Francis Xavier

Hi Hans,
These churches are most definately beautiful with wonderful lines. The natural soft window light is a treat in this shot. You must also have a very steady hand. The photo is sharp for a 1/60 hand held capture. Very nice work.

Hoi Hans,

This is a great photography and presentation of interior of this church.
Very good chosen point of view.
The man who is sitting is bonus plus to your composition.
Excellent sharpness and beautiful light tones.
I like black and white version, too.

Warm greetings and best wishes,

Boa noite Hansie

Hoi Hans,

Hello Hans !

Lovely post-processing work to get rid of the distortion. To see you subject better , which is sitting in the shadow, I wonder if you could not cheat a bit and add her an extra diagonal ray of light to illuminate her (*_^)

Just a thought.
