Tour de France Feeling - Hail to Contador!

Road cycling is my absolute favorite sport. Yesterday the biggest and most prestigious race, Tour de France finished, won by the Spanish rider Alberto Contador (for the 3rd time). Reasons to choose this image as a celebration:
- on this race the overall 1st wears yellow jersey ("maillot jaune")
- colors of Contador's team, Astana Cycling Team are yellow and blue. Just like the dominant colors on my pic (although my "blue" is quite grey-ish).
- Sunflower (Helianthus anuus) is a common agricultural plant in France, we (spectators) often see sunflower farms during the race on TV broadcast.

I, as a simple spectator, should like to congratulate to Alberto with my own tools.

Photo was taken near Ziliz village on a sunflower farm, just before the storm. I used flash to reach higher contrast. Shutter priority, manual exposure. PP: noise reduction, framing, signing, re-sizing, USM (CS2).

Thanx for stopping by and commenting - interested people (cycling and nature fans) may see another "Hail to Contador" image here on TrekNature.

Hello Laszlo !

A superb choice and post to commerate the yellow jersey of Albert Contador . I did have the priviledge to watch daily every stages.
I might add also the sunflower field is also a great choice since they have passed many of during their journey in rural France.

You sure had a threatening sky here. It almost look like you took it at night.
Well done,
Robert

Hi Laszlo

Nice to see you on TL.

Your choice of a bright yellow sunflower to celebrate the Spanish rider who won the Tour de France, is an excellent choice. Yellow is such a happy and victorious colour, I can see why Alberto chose to wear the colour. The dark background brings out the colour nicely, you did a great job using a flash.

Hoi László,
Nice composition in this photo ! As if the sunflower in front is welcoming the watchers.
Very good colors and details.
But ... this photo is already an old one .... no new material anymore ?

Joop!

Hi Laszlo. Road cycling is a healthy habit. I used my 40 years old Rolex on daily basis for short commuting and allows you plenty of time to look around. When you came across some nice subject like this, you can pull over for a quick snap and move along. It is a far cry from Tour de France though :-)

Beautiful off-centered framing of this sunflower captured in full glory. Very nice yellow and good dedication to the yellow Jersey.

You can see my bicycle and gear while I was out shooting here:

It is on Flickr as most of my pictures are because I shoot more than 90% film and very few pictures were taken with digital cameras.

Thanks for visiting my TL and I was surprised to see you here (in my gallery) because I rarely visit TL for a long time. Best regards and have a nice day shooting.
