I was in the capital city , Reykjavik on the day of the Marathon ( a colourful event that takes place in August each year in this city ) which thousands of runners of all ages participate in , i watched the ongoing activity along one of the main streets for a while--- i had taken a number from the distributor in the tourist office for some information i needed since the place was packed solid with visitors so i decided untill my turn to kill the time checking on the runners and the crowd---- when i noticed ( so obvious ! ) the huge wall across the street with this large poster of kids shown in different mimics , pulling faces , grimacing and also simply and naturally smiling ,it pleased me as a good subject for a photo , since today's theme has to do with 'Smiles ' well i see quite a few smiles on the faces of the bystanders too , so i think this could relate somehow to the theme , my humble contribution to this Friday's ,
iso 100 f/6.3 1/80 , cropped the bottom for a more panoramic format, deasaturated to B&W , sharpened , contrasted a bit ,bordered ,
Thank you for viewing ,

Thanks to Anna and Usaf who wished to see the color version of this picture so i have added it in a WS .

caio carol...lavoro riuscito alla perfezione..ottimo scatto..grande pov..bellissimo l uso del bianco e nero

Hello Carol,I like both versions of this shot.It seems totally appropriate for the theme.
I think that the queue of people in front of the poster make the shot come alive.
A lovely variety of expressions, well seen.
Tfs, regards Jean.

hello Carol

This shot is really amazing, that wall is incredible and your details are nice and sharp here. I think it was a good choice to use B/W here too.

TFS and for joining in the theme

kind regards Helen

What does a man do when he has " to kill the time " ?
He can take a long a good look at his shoes or ...
taking a good shot ! :-)

Well spotted Carol.
Did compare it with the WS and I like the B/W more.
No " but "

TFS and see you later !
