The walls of Rome's greatest ampitheatre, the Colosseum.
One of the reasons that I used this point of view was to try not to include any of the hundreds of people that were 'crawling' all over the building, both inside and out!

"The Colosseum was commissioned by the Emperor Vespasian in AD 72 on the marshy site of a lake in the grounds of Nero's palace, the Domus Aurea.
Deadly gladitorial combats and wild animal fights were staged free of charge by the emperor and wealthy citizens for public viewing.
The Colosseum was built to a practical design, with 80 arched entrances allowing easy access to 55,000 spectators, but it is also a building of great beauty."

Oh to be back in the streets of this magical city.....so, so much to see and take in.

You show this so well, to think that so many perished inside.

Awesome capture of this ruin still standing! That says a lot about ancient architects. Would love to visit those ruins, maybe someday. Good pov and nice details. Well done, tfs.

Hi Jean, This piece of ruin tells us how great this architecture
once was. Great light and colours. I like its original look. Best regards¸

Nice shot of the collosseum. A situation where a little is more (excluding all those people trying to take pictures!)It shows the stonework and the details. Nice job
