This fight I surprised her at Livigno in Italy.
Livigno is a town in the the province of Sondrio, in the region of Lombardy, Italy, located in the Italian Alps.
The Alpine ibex (Capra ibex) is a ruminant of the size of a goat (about a meter and a half long), but quite typical because of the knotted, long (up to meters) and heavy horns standing (even 15 pounds) to form of scimitar. The horns of the female serve only to defend their young and are rather short and pointed. The summer coat is gray or brown-gray with a black stripe on his belly, winter is clearer. Their structure is the same as the chamois, then there are rings and accruing annual and can therefore accurately assess age. On the horns of the males is also observed that the rings of "ornament" that increase usually every 2 years, however, is not an absolute rule. In the ibex hooves are broad and flexible articulation with independent adapted to travel on rocky slopes and impervious. Males have a sort of beard under the chin. In winter, to improve protection from the cold, you develop a thick fluff that animals lose later in the spring (when descending toward the valley floor to coincide with the season of play) rubbing against the rocks.
Yes eats the leaves, buds, branches, bark, lichen and conifer needles. Excellent climber and jumper, no distrust and bring you leave, because an animal is protected for a long time and is so accustomed to his presence - The rings of horn, will show the annual growth and hence the age. The male adult is impressive and the season of love, struggle mighty horn blows with their rivals and the noise of duels you hear from far away.
Males and females, usually in summer separate, the females remain with the young and the males form small Aggruppamento, while in winter sight also mixed flocks.

Hi Adrian,
The image may be a little bit blurred, which is not serious at all at this action shot, but the title of the image is funny, good choise. :) Your note is informative, TFS!

Hi Adrian.

Nice nature scene and very good timing. I know it is not so easy to take sharp shot in this kind of scene, so there is a smiley from me! :-) I love the title too!

All the best!

Bonjour Adrian.
Un cadrage plus séré comme sur cette image est plus adaptée a l’observation que l’image publiée l’autre jour.
Superbe prise de vue, Bravo.
Bonne soirée.

Hello Adrian,
I'm a bit late to comment this one as I promised I would do, but here I am. ;o)
Definitely better, indeed, than the one you deleted.
No disturbances from the environment, but a simple composition that appropriately highlights the animals.
Timing is very good as well, with a typical "wildlife pose".
Sharpness, however, still could be better (especially on the animal on the right), but with a focal length of 300 mm, it seems difficult to me to do better without a tripod.
The light remains a bit harsh, but overall, this is a good and interesting documentary shot.
TFS & kind regards,

we also have Ibex near my home, such a great animal
they are not afraind by men and so they were on the way to desapered... but with alpines reserve they are save nown and became to be many.
alway a pleasure to see them so well

Hi Adrian, An excellent nature photo. The long horns look very good. They are heavily built animals with warm coats too. Good clarity and colours. TFS. Murray.
