Roman Colusseum Architecture of the ancient Roman Empire is considered one of the most impressive of all time!

Treklens, when you want to know more of this majestic and also macabre place , go to Google.. type Colusseum
and you have all the info you need.

There are over there 2 kinds of 'late' Roman Soldiers
dressed up that way for Tourists in today Roma , like here the 'better ' ones .. and all over Rome you can see various versions .. also cheap versions ..wrong shoes and other details .. but that is the same all over the World

Come to Holland and you can have your photo taken in crappy Dutch old Costumes .. same for the USA where you see Cowboys and Indians dressed up for Tourists

Well you get my point..

No, I like to give you other info..
We arrived with the Cruise ship in Civitavecchia , at the Coast .. from there about ± 80 km to Rome

Various options .. we choosed Cristian and his 8 persons aircondition cooled Taxi ..

Cristian the Taxi Capitan, stayed with us the whole day.. we where in command !

An hour here .. and hour there .. two for the Vatican etc etc..
Price?? 450 Euro ! Devided by 8 was realy a PERFECT deal ! 60 Euro PP ( so a nice tip included for our friend )

Plus Cristian turned out to be a very galant / charming
guy ..I will place his Taxi website here, if ever there , call them and ask for Cristian !!

Will send him an email .. so he can see - read all this
( Thanks / mille gazie again Cristian and Saluti di Ollandi )

See Workshop, to see the whole bunch and Cristian is the guy most left

TL members Jens and John Tulip in middle ( of course)

Rome.. It would take a week to write here everything we experianced that day ..

Remember.. once Roma was the Capital of the world Folks

Hallo John.
Good looking picture of those brave guys. Think they are talking how to beat 'Astrix', right ?
Groeten van Jan

Beautiful capture.
A bit dark for my taste but still great.
So now we have more guys in skirts :-).
You're starting to worry me bro :-).

Hello, John,
I really like this shot. Very nice rich, natural color, great detail, well composed. It looks like a scene from a movie about ancient Rome. Really nice work! Many thanks and kind regards,

Hi John,

This is one of the performances that I love to see . . their courageous and boldness . .
And indeed they are strong and highly dedicated . .
New film "Rome" on HBO recently launched . . I love it . .
Do you have a chance to wear those costume? . . Share with us if you wear one . .

I don't think their struggle is that hard, there are worse jobs IMO ☺^☺.
A nice city, isn't it, John? These actors are concentrated around the Colosseum, I didn't see them on the Forum Romanum. (see ws). Maybe their faces are a tad too dark, and the right one's plume on the helmet looks a tad unnatural - did you blur it or something?
Anyway, it's nice to see you saw what I saw ☺.

Merhaba Yeğenim(my cousin) John,
Güzel foto. Bravo
Teşekkürler. Çok güzel çekim.
ellerine sağlık.
Your Cousin Seyfettin

Great capture of the classic Roman Soldiers. The costumes are excellent and rich with color and detail. I have to say it looks like your trip has been exciting. I'm looking forward to seeing more pics.

Hi John,

So, today centurions in "la Citta Eterna"?! :-)
Very nice and colorful composition, I think was no easy to capture them, maybe from the big distance, a kind of candid camera?! Because I know that they can't be photographed only for money.

Have a good evening,

Hello Mr. world traveler :)
Quick from office.
This photo reminds me movies like Benhar, or Julius Cezar etc.
Candid shot, sure you didn't asked them to pose for you.
I like their costumes. Bright red.
Well captured shot.

Nice rich colours John, I do like the crop a la Huub and well framed. Like Pierre I wonder about the darkness and once again a fill flash filter (PSP) would bring out some more detail. TFS,

Hi John,
This looks like taken from a movie set ... very realistic ancient scene. The weathered wall gave the scene a more realistic look. Well captured and composed with good resulting image quality. Well done! tfs

Hi John, Your composition and notes make this very interesting. This is a very real photograph of what the old soldiers would have been like. The colours are just right. TFS Murray.

A scene that could be out of De Mille's movies.
Everyone has already told you what they tought of it and I agree with some of them so will spare you the nagging.

Hi John,
We all know that you travel extensively but I did not know you time-travelled as well! Nice picture.

Quo Vadis
Alles is hier in de sfeer van het oude Rome
Trefend het is heel realistisch !

( heb hartkloppingen , ned It 2-0 je geeft er wel geen moer om maar toch John :-)

if i saw something like it always remind me of trojan :D anyway beautiful shot of this guards? lovely colours and detail.. good one.

regards, terry

Hi Bro, nice tight portrait on the actors.
As for myself, the brightness is perfect. It is not too dark on my screen. And I followerd Pierre's link to adjust and it turns out that my monitor is well calibrated.

Even if an LDC is well calibrated, the rendition of colours and luminosity is not the same.
And a digital screen and an analogue screen makes also a huge difference.

Any how, this looks perfect.

Take care, Sis

Hello Sir John,

Good God, this image brought me back to the history Ceasers and their impire was maginificient. Did you notice that each war in the history was won just because of one element i.e. innovation?

A beautiful shot my friend, well done. Thanks for sharing this.
