Victoria from the Citadel
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|Victoria is the capital of Gozo, an island of the Maltese archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea. The town is the largest locality in Gozo.|
Victoria is the name given in 1897 by the British government on the occasion of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, at the request of the Bishop of Malta, Mons. Sir Pietro Pace. However Gozitans still often refer to it by its old name, Rabat. The area around Victoria, situated on a hill near the centre of the island, has been settled since Neolithic times.
In the heart of Victoria lies the Citadel, formerly known as il Castello, which has been the centre of activity of the island since possibly Neolithic times, but is known to be first fortified during the Bronze Age c. 1500 BC. It was later developed by the Phoenicians and continued into becoming a complex Acropolis by Roman times.

Bom dia Francis,
Few are able to produce postcards as you, principally when the subject is Malta.
Hello Francis, an excellent DoF looking across the town.Old buildings and yet with all the trappings of the 21st century.
The people provide a focal point, and the Citadel[?] is nicely balanced with the domed church.
Tfs, regards Jean.
Technically a very professional image created here in this urban scene.Well balanced with such depth and details and the inclusion of the people on the left bearing additional interest. Full marks here MF.
