Weather and time isn't allowing me much time to make new photos so I have to do with another photo from the one glorious morning in the snow. This time a different point of view toward the farm. I wanted to use the darkness of the tree to create more contrast in the winter landscape and a sort of anchor the compostion. Although this has placed the farm in it center position. But I feel that there is still enough balance to make the composition work.

Dag Niek,

prachtige en sfeervolle compositie, vooral met het riet op de voorgrond. De boomstam als linkerkaderdeel is goed gekozen.

groeten, Pat.

Hello Niek!
Really wonderful winter composition with great point of view!
Excellent light!
Beautiful colours!
Best regards!
Lili

Niek, what a lovely winter shot!
The exposure is perfect and especially with such conditions. Brilliant composition, wonderful soft color and I love the dark tree in the FG with the warmly colored grasses catching the light. Excellent sharpness and detail as well. It's like a wonderful painting. That is really beautiful. Many thanks and kindest wishes,
Shelly

Hi Niek,
This shot is from a great PoV and is well balanced as the tree creates the feeling that the farm is not in the centre of the shot - nice work in fooling the eye. Best wishes

Hi Niek,
A wonderful winter shot from an interesting POV.
I like the thick trunk on the left with the branches emerging from the top - its acting as a nice natural frame.
A vast field with a house all covered with snow adorned with marvelous light.
Very sharp presentation.
Best regards,

Francis Xavier

Bonjour Niek

Superbe POV!!!
J'adore ce premier plan...rude par le tronc et doux par les joncs enneigés!!!
Très belle lumière!!!
Congratulations
Catherine

hi there,

excellent pov n good use of dof, the tree on the left gives a sense of depth and helps fill the frame. sharp with good details, love the colours.

I love this one. Beautiful - dramatic in its composition and the way the light and shadows angle in to a vanishing point off towards the right.

The tree trunk on the left provides a solid entry point for the shot and creates an acceptable context for those oprhaned branches entering the frame at various points.

Nice work

Ik vind het gebruik van donkere plekken in een compositie juist heel mooi Niek, dat geeft sfeer, zeker op plekken zoals deze.

Hi Niek
Currier and Ives definitely would use this for their cards Its the perfect shot with the light hitting in the right spots
great details, and shadows, the house welcoming amidst the frosted trees.

Hi, Niek. Nice sharp winter scene with the tree forming a nice contrast to the white scene. The foreground adds depth to this winter wonderland. Cheers and TFS

Hi Niek

A superb winterscape with the big fg tree at left adding graphism depth & layering as well as framing the snowy backdrop superbly. Good color contrasts, between the dried, yellow brown grass, & blue sky. Tfs!

Hi Neik

Well composed shot, does not matter that the farm is central in this one due to that tree which is framing the shot.
Nice POV with the grass in the foreground.

Lovely photo Niek - deep DOF, sharp through the whole scene.. I think that the tree is the most important element for the composition as regards 1/3rds goes as it is the most obvious object in the scene so I agree with you about the compo..
Nice colour and exposure too - another great wide photo.

DAvid

hello Niek,
Holland is having a real winter this year.

Hello Niek,
perfectly balanced composition. The solid large dark tree trunk is the vibrant factor here & it does as you had expected.I love the details & colours presented here.I like your angle for shooting this, as the grasses & fence lead the eye right into this scene.

Perfect Niek...love the sight of my birth place covered in a blanket of snow. Last time i actually saw such a scene was somewhere in the 80's i believe. The phot brings back good memories. Good shooting...
