[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This photo was taken at Keukenhof, the annual spring flower show in the Netherlands. Not only is it the most photographed place in the world but it also boasts the world's largest indoor display of Lilies. There are an amazing 110 species in the family and are even more surprisingly leafy stemmed herbs! I liked this photo as this Lily is not as popular as some of the other species of Lilies and I found the yellow and red to be quite striking. I also focussed on the reproductive parts of the flower instead of the petals.

I used a shallow depth of field at a slight angle. I managed to blur the background a little using the zoom funtion. Image sharpened very slightly. Like to keep my photographs as natural as possible.

This is just fantastic, Taryn

Love the details of the heart of one of several thousands of beautiful tulips you managed to catch in Keukenhof!
Great details and well clarity with amazing color contrasts existing within the picture.
The POV and DOF are excellent, where the flower filling up the whole frame is well seen.
Nice light and a balanced exposure too do enhance the overall beauty of the floral scene.

Well executed work!

Groetjes,
Paras

> A delicate flower, captured with admirable details!
Accurate DoF that isolates the subject very well,
making the flower stand out on the blurry back...
Effective point of view too...!

Greetings,

Sergio

Hi Taryn

Superb use of a shallow dof, that helps to isolate & emphasise the colorful red & yellow flower from its oof bg. The diagonal green centre add dynamism. Excellent textural & tonal details with perfect density. Tfs!
