Hi Missy,
Welcome to TL.
I like this simple but effective composition and B/W works well. You have placed the sun well, using the rule of thirds and I like all the different layers of land, sea and sky. I am not sure if there is a bird at the waters edge but the lettering in the sand adds interest. I would have used a wider crop for this shot however by taking a little off the foreground.

Very nice shot having many interesting "layers" running
horizontally through the picture.I am glad to see more B&W as it can be as dramatic as color if not more so.Also to point out-the variety of shades adds an element of richness.Thanks for sharing.
