A simple window with light but a very moving subject put in the context of your note. A strong addition to today's theme.

A simple shot, yet very photographically artistic! Good use of shallow DOF. I like the courageous approach to this presentation, producing the bricks in blur which is most of the presentation.
Good exposure management and fits well in this Theme.

I was going to say this looked like a prison. Then I saw an infamous word in the location title. "Auschwitz". No other words necessary. An apt entry in the see the light Friday theme. Tfs!

Hi Inaam, what a photo reminding us how cruel and savage man can be...
The images well done with a shallow DOF having the outside in focus and the room not. Nice sharp colors...I like the part of the bed you show on the left and the FG giving perspective of size ... Nice work Inaam. TFS.

Salaam Inaam Bhai
The windows looks so amazing with its lovely greenery with contrast to the darker and warmer tones inside the room captured with good depth and details.

Very appropriate for Friday's theme. Great capture even if the story behind this building is very sad and inhumane. I just hope those events will never be repeated again. Good pov and dof with nice details. Well done, tfs.
i like it a lot. nice shot of window... in my opinion if the room became a little darker, light will shown itself more...

Hello Inaam :)
Simple but very beautiful money transfer, and light in this window
was surely the light of the hope for the people who were there.
Miraculous painting, very showy, in beautiful light, interesting POV.
Splendid composition and splendid contribution to Friday theme.
My best wishes.
A nice entry to Friday's theme, Inaam!
Good management of exposure which is not that easy when taking shot indoor, but you managed it very well. The sharpness and POV are nice too.
Have a nice weekend.

I like your choice...there is light and a feeling in these places...not beautiful more a deep dark one.
The window that your photo shows is powerful...it allows to run from claustrophobia....
As far as the subject matter is concerned, I really think it is a good idea of you to have opted for a photo of Auschwitz in order to express the idea of light. Very symbolic: light = hope.
Said this, I must say in all honesty that, to me, the flash light of your camera has eliminated much of the potential of your photo: to me, the foreground should have been dark, very dark, with only the outside view through the window offering a ray of hope.
I don't know the possibilities of your Canon Ixus, but was it possible to deactivate the flash and to avoid its hard light?
I'll post a WS to show you how I would have approached this scene and the feeling it evokes to me.
Of course, this is just my personal view. Feel free to (dis)agree ;o).
TFS & kind regards,

Hello Dear Inaam
nice composition and a colorful view through the window,[Flash: Flash fired, compulsory flash mode, red-eye reduction mode]
(IMO) I wouldn't fire flash here and would left the room dark.
Hello Inaam , for having visited here a few years ago i can understand the sufferings the prisoners went through during their captivity on the account that in the end most died , sad very sad !
About the photo , composition is ok placing the window off-center and the view is wide enough to show what served as 'beds' and that brick is not a good insulating material against the cold winters . I think that the flash was not necessary here , the light coming in from the outside might have been sufficient to light up ever so lightly the interior of the room , agree with Erik on the particularity of the lighting here , darker inside is better , as one imagines the captives secluded in cold/damp and badly lit cell-like bunkers.
Not a bad shot though and certainly a well appointed image for the theme my friend,

Good morning Inaam,
Note brings light to deep thoughts, the passage of time and never deletes.
However, here, between the light precisely.
Good presentation for entry into the theme of the day. TFS

Excellent perspective and a very well done composition with the horizontal lines around the window gidding and support our look to the «light» out.
Very well done.
Best regards, mb

Hello Inaam, an interesting way to present this picture, with the interior in soft focus and the view through the window so sharp and clear.
A good idea to include the alcoves with the beds, the message comes home loud and clear! It makes me wonder how many people looked through this window in the past?
Good entry to the theme.
Tfs, regards Jean.
