iso 80 , f.7.1, 1/200, taken in the late afternoon under cloudy skies , corrected some verticals lightly , played with highlights and added some contrast, sharpened,

HA!! Maybe I'll be the first!
THis reminds me of another shot you posted of a woman in window.
Great shot Carol .. love the way you've composed this with the negative space above him and the ornamental 'posts' below. The tiny splash of color from the lid of his water bottle is quite eye-catching. He looks quite concerned .. must be deep in thought.
Seems like this has a slight lean to the right ... still CArol, a great shot .. I really like this my friend.
Have a nice day!
Trudy

Bonjour Carol,
Bravo! Annie

Hi Carol,
Great shot, I love the overall composition and the feeling of texture you get from the peeling paint on the window - the boy looks like he is waiting for someone to return after a long time. TFS

This is good! Textbook composition (and subject) but a very compelling look from the boy - that expression really commands attention and makes you wonder what he's thinking ... or seeing!
Great stuff

Hi, Carol -
Exceptionally well-composed shot. I really like how the sides of the ornate window frame became the vertical borders of your shot's frame. Wonderful details of the weathered wood. The boy's serious expression and his location in the bottom left quadrant are very nicely captured and positioned. Very nicely done.

Carol, This is one reason I want to live in a city. How nice it must be to "people watch" from one's own window! The different textures and details show a great architecture from many years ago. I'm sure the entire building was beautiful. The high, high windows are really not seen in the U.S. and I think that detail gives us an indication of the European setting perhaps. Of course, the boy looks like he will be watching for quite some time as he has his water bottle within arm's reach. He looks like he is focused on something or someone that has captured his gaze. Well seen! :) Lisa

Boa noite Carol
I have a great to see the way you look things, the humanity you communicate trough your photos. A very interesting architecture and a delicious moment. I really love your photos.
Um abraço
Teresa

I was looking at your photos and this one stood out for me! LOVE the window included in this boy's portrait! Exceptional sharpness, there is a slight tilt, I would have straightened that out. Other than that wonderful work!

Love it Carol : great compo !
Technically I find it " good work " by not having any OE in the window.
" But " the boy must hold on because he's a bit sliding to the right :-))
( don't mind : do have to tell it )

Greetings
Jan
