Certainly this has a Victorian feel to it - obviously the clothes and hats do the job here. You've managed to catch an aged look quite well and the sepia finishes it off properly. Also a nice simple scene - particularly with two of the three guys looking away from the camera much as Victorian era poseurs did...
Cheers

Hi Carol,
What a fit shot presented for Friday theme, here you captured this piece of history with your fil cam with nice framing and good exposure further PP makes it more ages old pic,the note is very interesting as I learned a good information about San Marino,a beautiful presentation serving the theme as well as presenting your skill of film camera age.

Hi Carol,
A very good treatment to this scanned piture to create this 'pictorialism' atmosphere.
Great use of the soft focus filter, while maintaining accurate sharpness. I like the sepia toning which gives an old aspect to the capture. Nonetheless the uniforms conform with the subject.
Good job!
My best regards,
Francis Xavier

HI Carol,
this is a good job for the theme.
IMO we never had such a difficult theme ...
So I also tried my very best ;-)
You did good work here, some parts are OE, some too dark - and realy that's good for pictoralism. A little different from the normal ideas of quality ;-) Crazy theme indeed.
Thanks and have a nice weekend

Hi Carol,
This fits in nicely with the theme, the guards standing around randomly and the photograph taken in a candid fashion is a superb composition, this would have a perfect old look if the security camera had been cloned out but on the other hand it does show how recent the picture was taken and is a credit to your PP work on ageing this image - great work. Best wishes

Hi Carol
Great «vintage» flavor given for the sepia work... the uniforms .... and the mustache of the man in the middle; excellent light and sharpness.
Congrats, mb

Hi carol,
Not only the style of the photo but also the clothing of the guards add to the pictorialism idea and style. This is a great contribution to the theme. The only thing that gives away that this photo was taken not so long ago is the CCTV. If that wasn't there you could have fooled us and wrote that you used a time machine to make this photo in the period of pictorialism.

Niek

Hi Carol
excellent entry to Friday's theme.
this photo looks really old.
the guards with their special uniform, the soft focus and blurry texture of the Palazzo's porch, the sepia tones, all that makes this presentation feel like an aged photography treasure.
great pp work.

Bonjour Carol
Bon résultat sur ce sujet fort délicat.Les allures désuettes de ces gardes et leur attitude souriante nous fait repartir dans une autre époque grace au traitement PP.Bravo Carol pour la réalisation de ce défit.Catherine

Hello Carol,
This is quite a 'blast from the past'!
It looks so original! The pomp and the ceremony was so high on the agenda of Victorians and the mood is well captured here.
I like the mixture of b&w and sepia as if real experimentation has taken place.
Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)
