This is a pumice. There is lot of it in Teide National Park. Pumice is a volcanic rock with high porotisty. The best known use as a pumice stones.

In the background is the Pico de Teide, which is an active voulcano, the highest spanish elevation - 3718 m. Last eruption was in 1909. pico de Teide is placed in the central of National Park which is World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 2007.

Whole National Park is full of volcano peaks and the landscape is just magnificient like from other world.

Hi Agnieszka, I like the strongly contrasted textures of the porous volcanic stones you accomplished in your shot using your camera settings and taking advantage of the direct sun.
Good use of the DOF as well.
The wide black frame is appropriate for the image, but the big 'Pumice' title is not necessary and spoils somehow the beauty of the post, you already had titled it. Just my thoughts ;)
However, it´s a great shot!

Galder

nice frame for warm colors,

well done Agnieszka
