[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a photo that was taken at the Auditorium of Santa Cruz de Tenerife , itself the capital of Tenerife one of seven islands making up the archipel of the Canary Islands . I happened to be there when this young couple met on the platform of this major landmark called simply the Auditorio , coming from seperate directions they joined , kissed and immediately held hands , a gesture i found irresistable to capture , i made this while they were chatting there hand in hand for some time . Perhaps a close-up might have been interesting too but the shape and futuristic apprearance of this grand architectural edifice should be included in the shot i think. Designed by the internationally reknown Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava the auditorium posseses superb accoustics, it hosts opera , dance and classical-music performances among others , on the outside it resembles a cross between a ship's sails and the Sydney Opera House i would say .
I used my old Minolta on this trip ,little PP here just bumped up the highlights a tad , no frame for this one, hum that was hard not to , he he,
Thank you for looking,
Carol

hi carol! cool black and white photo. this structure reminds me of Camp Big falcon, being a kid year back, watching voltes V. This structure is similar to the Voltes V commanding base. great architecture!

cheers

Hi Carol
impressive architecture.
a very beautiful and unique building, well captured.(I have a photo on my gallery too).
good shot. the figures are perfect for scale.
the B&W version works well on the old photo.

Great use of B&W. We are left to concentrate on the scale, the texture, the human interest, geometry.

Great image.

Hi Carol,
Beautiful sense of scale with the two figures in front of the building - great architecture shown beautifully with great B&W tones - excellent shot. Best wishes
Bri

Hello Carol !
Impressive construction. The inclusion of couple helps in giving an idea of the scale of the building. Good choice of the B&W for this one.
Great note.

Hi Carol...great shot...excellent composition with a nice range of tones....well done.

Roger

Another great one Carol. YOu seem to have a real knack for knowing when a B&W conversion would be appropriate. I think this is perfect example ... great grey and white tones here. The couple holding hands silhouetted against that amazing structure is perfect. Fantastic composition ... what a building that is!!
Great job amigo
Have a great day. We're fighting to get through another terrible cold snap.
