[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note

Spent a few days in Göteburg (Gothenburg, Sweden) and had the change to have a short photo shoot before I flew home. The weather wasn't really good, but when I observed this man on the bench in front of this little church (Sankta Birgittas) I had my moment and took this picture. Anyway I like the mood here, the grey overcast was the reality and it suits to the title in my opinion.

PP work: Shot in raw, adjusted brightness and clarity, converted to jpeg and adjusted levels and curves. Resized and sharpened with USM, add frame.

Hi Hans,
A very relaxing shot, nice and peaceful surroundings.
The man sitting on the bench infront of this church is giving a sense of tranquillity and quite an adequate place for contemplation.
Very sharp presentation with every detail in pin sharpness.
Good light and very natural colors.
My best regards,

Francis Xavier

Hi Hans
Thats a pretty opportunity u've availed :)
Nice diffused light due to cloudy weather. The man on bench give a very good sense of size of the church.

If i had to take this one i might have moved a little more right side and changed a little POV just to bring the church at right and the man on bench at bottom left (two gold spots of 3rds) which would brought both of the subjects at effects compositional spots. If the situation has allowed :)

Oh Hans, this is my kind of photo! Besides being beautiful and well captured, it's extremely interesting to me. Not sure if it's the subjects, composition or the harmonious look, but it draws me in, and keeps me for a while. I like churches, trees and old guys :), but it's the composed look that brings me back to it.

Excellent sharpness! The contrast of the tree branches really pop out at me.

Hi Hans,

On the surface this looks like a relatively simple composition, but there is a lot to take in. Nicely composed to include the wrought iron fence and free-standing bell tower. The lone individual and cloudy sky really sets the mood, I wonder if he has a lot to contemplate. Nice work my friend.

Best regards,

I love this Hansie! Very nice catch having this man as the central attention of the shot. Interesting, seems as if he is waiting on the bus or something. Nice processing, you avoided that pesky glare when there is clouds! Nice work!

Nice - simple - introspective. I'm glad you didn't make it b&w, as much as that might draw emphasis to the architecture, there is something about the warmth of the skin tones that draws the eye down to your subject.

Hallo Hans.
Prachtige opname. De man zo voor de kerk. Ik geniet vaak van mensen op bankjes er straal een zekere rust van uit. Heb daarom ook een serie er van gemaakt op mijn site.
Succes en groet Frans
