I have lived in Liverpool all my life... 48 years ..(ooo that long) and if it wasn't for Treklens I might never have found this work of art...(which I have found to love) Its a sculpture by Tom Murphy a local artist. It is called The Spirit of the Blitz dedicated to the innocent people who lost their lives in Liverpool and Bootle in the may Blitz of World War Two. This is the first in a series of pictures I will post as I don't think just one Will serve this great wor of art justice.
as for the picture.... a bit of post production to remove background ( which I will show in future pictures).......Please enjoy and commmet as this is what this site is all about ....:-)

Hi, I do like the impact and dramatic feel to this shot, I have yet to see this memorial as its kind of tucked away, another hidden beauty.
Thanks for sharing.

You demonstrated the sculpture in the good, tight frame. Removing the background certainly permitted for better showing the sculpture. I like your work.
You could dim the reflections of light a bit(translator)

Nice shot Ron, Have you yet spotted my my rather less professional attempt at the same sculpture posted last week? It's a lovely piece of work isn't it, and tucked away from open view unless you go into the gardens.

A Fantastically detailed close up shot of Tom Murphy’s “Blitz Memorial” by the Pier Head. Another of Tom Murphy’s statues that of John Lennon greets you at Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport other statues in Merseyside by Tom Murphy include Bill Shankly at Anfield, Dixie Dean at Goodison Park, and John and Cecil Moores (late of Church Street now sited outside the old JM centre Old Hall Street I believe) A great shot thanks for putting this one up Ron.
