A sunset as seen from 'Clonque Beach' on the island of Alderney..Shot in RAW, and other than jpegging and resizing that's it for pp..

Obviously the long shutter speed has given a nice misty effect in the sea..

Hi David,
From the first sight I thought it was a picture taken at 30.000ft :-) Indeed the shuttertime creates a wonderful effect as if it are cloudss. Great camera handling resulting in a wonderful picture!

Hi David..great shot..wonderfully composed..wonderful details and colors...

I've been wanting to do one of these shots for so long, and have not yet got around to it. One day.

I love it by the way. Nice work with the slow shutter/small aperture sunset shot, the misty sea and the stark rocks. This one is awesome.

Hi David,
Very tranquil scene. As stated previously, the sea appears to have been turned into clouds. I took a shot at a cove once, and saw how all of the ripples were smoothed out with a 4 sec. exposure. Your 30 sec. one really enhances that effect. Great idea maximizing your DOF, to get the close rocks and the sunset in focus. Very well done. TFS.

Hi David

Your long exposure gives this a mystical feel.
Nice composition with the rocks in the foreground, must have been very little wind when you took this as the clouds are sharp for a 30 second exposure.
Great Shot.

Regards Derek

When I look at this it makes me want to be sitting on the rocks looking at this scene. A sensational picture and I love the colors. Excellent detail. TFS

Hi David.
This is awesome. Colour of the sky is amazing and the long exposure has given fantastic results.

It's a superb capture David for sure.
Love the fiery orange light reflected on the water as well as the sky.
Wonderfully artful and aesthetically pleasing arrangemnt of rocks as well.
Excellent work.

Very well done. Natural without HDR technique, I love it! Very dreamy, long exposure was a very good idea! Spectacular!

Whoa David!! This is one "heckava" shot! I can only imagine the beauty while at the scene. The beautiful colors of the sky reflecting gently on the rocks, the softness of the sea, are all very tranquil images that calm the mind.

Perfect capture in my opinion. Lisa

Hi David,

Lovely image, great exposure and perfect movement on the sea, this would make a lovely large print.

I only give awards for pic that are over the top and this certainly IS! WOW! What a shot, incredible long exposure here. Love the MISTY look! What time of night was this taken? Or evening? Stunning vibrancy, especially off the rocks! WOW! An award for you!

Beautifiul colours, great subject (I love skies), sharpness and movement both at the same time... a fantastic picture. I love it.

Hi David,
this is really cool. Excellent camera handling.
The results produced here due to your use of a long 30 second exposure was well worth the wait :-) :-)

Best regards, Daniel

Hiya David

Well well you really pulled out the stops on this one.. I love it. Nice scenic view with good soft tones and warm sunset colours, good use of thirds. Nice sharp detail on the rocks on the Forground and I love that misty feel to the sea. This would happily grace a position above my fireplace. Lovely work.

TFS regards Helen

hi David

It definitely projects like a view of the high altitude mountains with misty clouds.

Somehow the effect is quite fascinating from your 30s long exposure that cannot say it is a beach view and you have succeeded in this capture as a great mood of the evening sky.

f/25 and 30s combination works well.

I like it. One of your best posts.

tfs, bill

Wow, David, that's marvelous.
I love that mood and the colours, excellent work. Like fog on the water, the effect is excellent. I would like to have such a lens also, are you satisfied with it?
The results are so!
Thanks and greetings

Very nice David. Beautiful colors and lighting. Extremely sharp, for such a long shutter and great misty effect on the water.

Well composed. All in all, a perfect shot.

Hello David! What a formidable shot! The colors, water effect and composition are top of the scale! Superb image! The only thing is that light vigneting in the corners but it doesn't spoil that great shot at all. Well done!

Hi David, Great sunset shot, but the rocks in the foreground make the picture. The sunset just draws the viewer. I see you shot this with the Sigma 10-20, one of my favorite lenses. I bought it when it first came on the market here. Cheers, Roger

hello David,
magnificent image! It has lots of impact. I especially like the juxtaposition of milky sea and red sky.Super sharp too.
well done

Hi David,
Just spotted this in your gallery and I love it! The long shutter speed has created such a cool smokey effect on the water, the textured rocks scattered around the place make excellent FG objects too. It's like the perfect shot - both visually and technically. Well done.

Hello David

A very much like an end of the world, or primitive landscape from a movie set. I love the capture of the colors here. Just awesome. I need to get back to the beach. I love these lobg exposures.........................Nice work
