A beautiful day in London some years ago now.. A very vibrant city but no way would I want to live there...

This is a scan from a transparency - bit of pp work to bring it up to scratch (and get rid of lots of scratches!!)

Fuji Velvia 100 (fave film) and Minolta X300 camera.

Bonjour David
Belle image qui est presque en bicolore du fait de la tonalite bleu et blanc de l’ensemble de la composition.
Une bonne réussite qui montre la grande roue parfaitement intégrée entre ciel et ville.
Bonne journée.
Urs

Hello David
You've been hiding this one! This is the best shot of the eye i've seen on TL. Your pov is spot on, the exposure is really good, and you have done a great job of removing the scratches on the slide. Excellent.
Regards, Leslie

Nice job. Textbook-perfect composition. Good sharp details and good saturation.

This is great David! Another wonderfully scanned image. The boats below really put this magnificent piece into perspective. Really fine choice for the composition, the sky is very interesting. Well done my friend.

TFS,
Scott.

Excellent shot, especially in the daytime like this. The wheel stands proudly out in this shot but them cloud formations are awesome. Excellent job

Hi David,

Something about this photo is "alive". Not sure exactly what it is though. Perhaps, it's because I know there are people on the boat and eye. Plus, it's a gorgeous day to be outside. I like how you have the eye off to the right of the scene. The majority of scene being sky is beautiful in of itself. Very cool shot! One of those "wish you were here" shots! Lisa

Hi David,
Superb sharp this image. Stunning almost surealistic sky. Perfect composition too. A wonderful posting David, I really appreciate it.

hi David

London? Very expensive and crowded but good for a summertime short visit. I agree.

This is a superb capture of bright sunshine and especially the wheel really stands out very strongly in the FG to dominate the sky. I like the placement of the bridge at the lower level. Somehow the narrow band of water and land at the bottom is controlled by the wheel reaching up into the space of the sky although there is some room at the top to crop.

This reminds me of the song by CCR...
Big wheel keep on turning,
Proud Mary keep on burning,
Rolling, rolling, rolling on the river

Good work.

Hi David,

Wow, intense blue sky! The composition is great, the eye looks through the clouds to the future. You see a lot of shots of that thing, but not many this nice.

Great job!
Reed

Superb sky and cityscape...

David, congrats on your PP work from the chrome! Overall, great photograph and perspective of the wheel of London. Personally, I would have liked to have seen more of the river. But with the limitations of your chosen lens I understand why that wasn't possible. Overall, great shot!!
