[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was taken at an art exhibition at Belsay Hall, Northumberland. The 'mirror' was in fact a reflective screen which ran a time lapse video of people who stood before you - it was weird looking at your reflection in the mirror and have the 'ghost' of a complete stranger walk up and stand where you were! The picture shows my wife Wendy and the 'ghost of a stranger'.

The challenge I had taking this shot was photographing a monitor without a flash and getting the image in place.

Adjusted brightness and contrast - resized for TL

Hope you like it.

Bonsoir Brian
We are almost neighbour this evening and also in the use of illusion...
Very interesting and funny, and overall well done ; it was not so easy it could have seemed

creepy but very effective shot here Bri nicely taken with good composition tf

Hi Brian!
very nice shot and very weird too! it must have been creepy to be there...the composition is great and the ghost is nicely captured...
best regards,

Creepy effect! Good capture of it though - the screen and its effects are clear, the levels are good and the image is sharp despite being an indoor shot with relatively low light. You did a great job.

Very original, Brian.
Well composed picture.
Good light and sharpness.
Well done job. TFS.

Greetings from Brazil,

Hi Bri,

This looks well done to me, and interesting too. Your wife looks in focus in both the reflection and the FG. This was a hand-held shot too, yes?

Very interesting picture.Hopefully you took it without a flash.Otherwise I think that the ghost would have disappeared! This is very well composed. That would have done an excellent picture for the Halloween. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Brian,
An intriguing photo... I like the idea and the timing. You also achieved the challenge of photographing the monitor correctly.
Said this, I ask myself whether a partial desaturation, leaving only your wife and the monitor in colour, wouldn't enhance the creepy atmosphere. Moreover, you could have asked your wife to adopt different other poses, e.g. without her hands in her pockets. Now, she does not look impressed by the ghost. But maybe she is used to that kind of phenomenons ;o).
TFS & kind regards,
