[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another one of flowing water, this time at Kimmeridge Bay in Dorset, and another sunset a couple of weeks ago on another "walking the dog" evening. It should be noted that dog in question is not very big, nor brave, and spends as much time as he can huddled up inside my girlfriend's coat during these cold winter excursions!

I took the shot with the idea of mirroring the light in the sky with the lines in the water, all pointing in towards the headland and tower ... whilst trying to show the movement to bring the image to life.

Canon 7D
Sigma 10 - 20
Remote Release and Tripod to keep everything stable and still.
Aperture Priority
F11 - for front to back sharpness
1.3 sec
ISO 100 Raw for max quality.

Lee 0.9 3 stop ND Grad Filter across the sky.

Hi Miles,

Excellent work. The wide angle lens combined with the aperture you used resulted in perfect DOF. The slow shutter did a nice job softening the water flow. I like the composition too. The low POV emphasizes the reflections on the water. Beautiful, TFS.

Hi Miles,
A splendid action shot with a suitable shutter speed of 1 sec. to produce such a lovely effect!
Superb lighting with this warm environment!
A fantastic wide angle shot with such an immense DOF.
Great neat work!
My regards,

Francis Xavier

Hi Miles, this is such a dreamy shot. It has a warmth to it even though you say it was too cold for the pooch, yet the milky flow over the rocks does suggest cooler temps. Fiona

Hello Miles

Love the soft motion blur of the waves & backlight on the fg rocks. We can just make out a little detail in the dark bg headland. Wonderful sunset colours & sharpness. Tfs!
