This image is of the seaside town of Ilfracombe in Devon from the top of Capstone Hill, which looks out over the sea behind. The scene shows the hustle and bustle of a typical weekday in the town so I feel it fits this weeks theme.

In the centre of the shot below the hill is the bay of one of the town's beaches. The towers on the right form the new theatre complex, while the road on the left leads to the harbour (will maybe upload some shots of the harbour in the future.)

Ilfracombe has a mix of old architecture. Many of the buildings were built during the Victorian time when the town became a fashionable holiday resort. There are some interesting old tunnels and bathing pools from that time when male and female bathing was segregated. The latest addition to the town is a huge sculpture of a woman on the harbour called 'Verity' by Damien Hurst, who also owns a restaurant on the quayside.

A good perspective very well composed with interesting element. Fine sharpness, great colors and good light managed. I like very much the fence in front and the little yellow flowers that gives a nature feeling to architecture behind,I like it very much the richness of details

Hi Joy.

Nice addition to the theme today, a place we have visited on numerous occasions. I like the height you obtained to show as much of the town as possible, the theartre to the right is so unusual isn't it. Well taken.

Hi Joy,a perfect POV,it gives the viewer a real feel for this seaside towns architecture & location, there looks like there would be many hills to walk up, from the streets leading away from the harbour.Well taken.

Hello Joy, there is a fine assortment of buildings to enjoy; it is hard to find two the same!
The tight crop excluding most of the sky was a good choice.Your PoV and DoF perfect for this shot.
I have never been to Ilfracombe, is it worth a visit?
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hi,this mix of architecture is indeed varied but harmonious. The inclusion of the fence and grass creates a nice perspective.Friendly regards,Otto.

You included the foreground which give an immediate sense of distance and proportion. The dominant white buildings to the right creates a good stop point for your eyes as you wander along the busy street from left to right.

Well done and TFS
