A close-up of the architecture in Doha's 'Souq Wafiq' (Souq meaning market). I believe this was an old run-down area but was totally rebuilt about five years ago. Now it is teeming with people; lots of shops, restaurants and sheesha (if you wish to kill your lungs of course). An interesting place to spend a couple of hours...

RAW, no PP except frame and resize.

Hi David.

Great angle, pleasing mix of tones and shade.

Stv ;0))

Love it! My kind of photo. I like the diagonal compo, the vivid colors (the sky looks like it could be the big sky of the Canadian prairies:) ... the single lone bird is a bonus too. Nice one

Hello David,

Hope you are well. Nice to meet you, for I think we are meeting for the first time here.
This is a really artistic shot, the shadows, the pigeon, the blue sky above, the nice architecture and angle you have chosen to portray it all.....simply exquisite!
This reminds me of the Indian adobe huts somewhere in the western USA if I am not wrong. A great heritage.
Thanks a lot for sharing....take care...warm regards/Abid

Hi David, interesting angle, which to me makes for a strong visual composition. The lone bird, caught my eye & kept me from moving out of the frame. I like the shadows from the protruding beams, are the beams for support or? Light looks pretty bright, was it difficult to meter for?TFS

Cheers

Ron

Hi David...nicely composed shot...the angles work well. Excellent light and focus with very nice tones and colors.

Hello David, a good diagonal composition showing a close up of these interesting features.Especially good are the shadows as they become stripes on the stonework.
The blue sky complements the details.
Tfs, regards Jean.

hello captain :)

i just wanted to say that the contrast between the colors and the shapes is so dramatic and appealing that you should print it right away :) without any further ado :)

one of your best :)

picturesque detail, but nothing unusual about it and visually nothing to write home about it. Your sense of architectural detail is certainly not developed enough to try architectural photography. sorry, my dear pilot buddy, you also should take some criticism.
