Underwater rose.
Another shot on the series of experiments on black glass. As i mentioned that the red color is harder to control than the yellow one, on
botanical #04, i find the exposure here a bit short or shall we say unsatisfactory in my personal opinion or might be more worse to others.
By changing the angle of the flash head perpendicular to the reflector and moving its position closer ,it created harder shadows and contrast on the water droplets but left the red color darker, probably another reflector on the front will do. With minimal equipment, i think lighter colors for flowers will bring more sufficient results for exposure. Still has a long way to go and lots to learn.
BTW i rotated the photo to give it an impression of being just submerged underwater, but it will be subjective to ones imagination.

Great color and composition Ian. I love the deep red of the rose and the sparkle on the water. Great work.

Hi Ian
Congratulation for your work. What you mentioned in your interesting note shows how much tender loving care there is behind this photo.
This rose is just wonderful. The enlighted water drops give the idea of space and emphatize the role of the light/shadow on the subject and the setting.

Ciao

Dugay ko na gid gusto mag shoot pareho sine, sang valentines pa just didnt get around to doing it. ayos ang effect sa black glass!

Great job Ian!

I so love the deepness of the red colour. I once tried shooting a red rose but I failed, if my shot wasnt too dark, it's too pale for the redness that I wanted to achieve. Gamitan ba naman kc ng flashlight :) Anong panama nun sa reflector, polarizer at flash na gamit mo? hehe

Keep shooting Ian! Each post moves you to a higher level.

Hello Ian,

You Continue with his beautiful art, that is fantastic, his experimental one is an art, a very beautiful art. I like that, it sharpens our senses and they help us to have wonderful visions.
This belongs one to them.
Congratulations

Hi Ian,
Excellent colour, composition and sharpness. I like the mood in this shot. This is such a good photo that i couldn't resist doing a WS on this just to get a bright tone.
