After thinking of this theme I've had a good 24 hours to think about it and shoot something for it!!

Result - my son looking a little whacky and zany with his drink going up into the sky :-)

RAW, hairlight reflected off a white wall and softbox from what is the left as we look at the photo...

The rest is playing with layers to isolate Michael and the liquid and pasted to a plain white BG..

The original is posted to WS - the extra arm holding the flash is my other son...

haha!! When I saw your suggestion for the theme, I knew you'd come up with something exceptionally zany .. I was just waiting. You did not disappoint :)
Very cool idea. I hope you had a lot of towels below him to catch the mess! Love his expression .. your boys must think it's a hoot to assist you with all your crazy ideas. You did a great job with the post work to get rid of all the distractions and isolate him alone against the white. Prefect .. very well done. I'm so impressed by your imagination.
Bottoms up!!

Hi David,
Superb W(h)acky & Zany capture, the upside down glass and contents is a weird view, You must have made many shots to get this result. Anyway your effort is a success. Great action shot, really an great idea to copy :-) Perfect sharpness and overall an gorgeous result!
Add this picture to my favorites....how to learn :-)

Hello David

I can only find an excellent idea, I looked at the WS and I think the final result very good.
The sharpness and especially the light are perfect.
The green liquid is the element which gives all the madness in your picture. Good timing !
Amazing white bg and colors too.

A successful family work, a big applause to your son and you.
Creative contribution to the theme.

Hi David,
Very cool idea! A matter of father and sons to do into the garage! :) The prominent vein in the forehead, neck t-shirt raised... I should have known that the image was reversed! But you have me totally mystified!
Whacky & Zany, I didn't know this term but now, it will be always in my mind!
Very sharp and well done photo . I appreciate a lot your instructive WS.
Bravo at you and your partners in the crime! :)

Hi David,
Very nice presentation and good idea,
nice job and very well done,
great colors and light,
Excellent PPwork and details.
very good action shot and cute kid too....

Hi David
Truly a very creative and well done presentation. Surely a wild whacky
zany and fun image. Love the look on your son face. Great sharpness
and well executed post processing. Thank you for sharing the original
photo. I could go on.......Bravo!

Funny and cool shot, David. No doubt when your son gets older he will never forgive you for including this type photo of his life into your archives. But being the good sport, I'm sure he must be, he probably will. Very innovative and technically very well done!

I worked out how you did it with your son up-side down, but your set-up and PP work makes it even better. And I love Michael's expression - he's certainly playing along with you - I bet he had fun...
Great one for the theme = well done

Hello David,

Just LOVE it!
Whacky in every way, from the upside-down pose, through the amazing expression to the emerald green liquid!
The sharpness is excellent and it all works so well against the white b/g. A great theme, a great execution!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello David,
I think your son is as creative as his father !
Nice contrasted colors green/red and original composition. Good choice of the white BG that increases the effect of surprise.
Kind regards

HI David
What goes up must come down....
Very creative imagination with super results.
By adding a logo to the shirt and bottle, this would make a great ad for some soft drink company or for St Patrick's day.
That is whacky at its best

Hi david,

I applaud you for both your concept and also for your extensive pp work. Just really nice work, it doesn't get any zanier than this.

Best regards,

Haha! Excellent creativity here! Outstanding.

The concept alone is admirable, and the execution of it - post work, and the moment you captured, is great. Your son did a great job pouring (mostly) and his expression is spot-on!

The spilling liquid must've been quite a shore to isolate in the PP workflow.

Boa noite
Excellent photo.
creative and very well done.
Um abraço

Imagination and great pp work combine to make this a delightful image, David - could almost be a poster ad for some new green kids drink! Excellent.

Well, David, in addition to being technically excellent -- the clarity and sharpness is especially impressive -- I'd give you extra points for creativity if that were possible. Well conceived and nicely executed!

Bonjour David,
Très belle réalisation. La figure du garçon renforce la folie du thème.
Beaucoup de recherche et de créativité.

Hi David,
Very unique photo, certainly suits the theme. Great expression on your son's face, the way you've captured the liquid is good too. It all looks evenly exposed and nice and sharp. Very creative thinking.
