[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I finally get time to post again...

This is the largest chandelier of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi. The thing weighs, I believe, about 15 tonnes! There are seven chandeliers in all, decorated with some 40,000 Swarovski crystals. You need to be part of a tour to get right underneath as I have done here.

Photographically - RAW, very little PP; just cloned a dust spot and cropped/framed...

1/20 sec at f4.5, ISO 320 and +1 EV.

Hi David

Good to see you posting again. With the 40 degree heat in Brisbane of late I'm in no hurry to live in UAE. 49c at Birdsville yesterday which is a new record & a common top temperature on the Arabian Peninsula. A good upward pov with excellent sharpness and wonderful repetition of patterns, shapes & Islamic designs. I am looking forward to moving to Turkey in a few weeks. Excellent control of light with a perfectly exposed interior & slightly oe exterior, which doesn't detract at all imho. TfS!

Hello David, an excellent shot with a beautiful symmetry; the ceiling with its' alternative shapes and patterns makes the ideal frame.
It is hard to imagine the technicalities of hanging such a work of art.
Thanks for sharing,regards Jean.

The details you got on this chandelier are just fantastic, DAvid!

Great focus and perfect contrasts with amazing light and exposure management.
I like the shape and the colors of this piece of art.
An excellent shot!

Kind regards,
Paras

Hello david.

A fine chandelier it is too, the mixed shapes, tones and light to the backdrop adds to the majestic theme of this. Am sure a side view would look a spectical, have you one to add to the workshop perhaps.

Hi David,
A very rich chandelier nicely photographed from this worm's eye view! An attractive semi-abstract presentation. Nice colors and a beautiful symmetry.
Very neat work.

Une photo soignée où tout a été étudié au millimètre: composition ,lumière au centre, contraste, netteté
Really nice and quite perfect ;slight unbalanced light between east and west but the best photographer cannot command to the sun

This is a beautiful photo, David.
We know what it is, but we also know that this fact is of little consequence since what attracted you was the graphic beauty of the chandelier and its surroundings,
Excellent lighting.
Have a nice Sunday.
R.

nice cliché shot at a beautiful place taken with first class lens with a steady hand. I probably would take the same shot at a place like this,
but you get maximum adulation with the least input.
