Beware what you do when emptying the pool.
Make sure nobody is using it.

This is what happened last Sunday. Preparing for Autumn so started to empty the pool. Then I heard a heart stopping scream and when I looked, just had time to grab the camera and get this.
The water going through the bottom drain created this whirlpool that sucked that poor bather.
Never had time to help the person.

I don't know who it was and the only clue I have is that ring.

So if anybody knows that ring or can identify it, please let me know so that I can tell the family of the loss.

I'm so sorry.

--------------------------------------------
My sick mind came up with this idea last Sunday while emptying the pool. All I needed was an arm. So went through the photos I had from Isabelle's birthday party and got this excelent one.

PP: Used 4 layers for this.
Bottom layer was the whirlpool in its entirety. Just added a frame.
Second layer is the arm copied from the birthday photo.
Third layer is part of the whirlpool around the edge to cover the arm and make a clean separation.
Fourth layer ia a copy of the second layer arm erased just a bit to let show the water from the bottom layer.

Hello to those of you that are just looking.
And HELLO and THANK YOU VERY MUCH to those of you that leave critiques/comments/workshops :-).

Hi Pierre,
My belly ached as I read the fiction part of your note :O
Similar things have happened here in Portugal - I remember a case of one or two children who died a few years ago.

About the photo: nice colors and very tricky image - you actually believe what you read as you look at the photo!! But then again, we know that you like to joke around so we're always wondering wether or not it's true...thank goodness :))
TFS

Lurdes

Bonjour Pierre,
There is a theme called "Freaky Friday" this defenitely should have been part of it - well it is not Friday, but if you like why not add it to the theme?
Love your work - good thinking - nice presentation.
TFS

Your pool must be heated if you just closed it... closed ours once it dropped below 60!

Salut Pierre,
Ha,ha,ha! Superbe composition! Cet effet est très original.
Excellent travail

I didn't know you had "kid-eating" pools in Canada? I thought Texas was weird! I'm sure it's just some poor street urchin, he probably was stealing from you anyways! don't worry about it......one less kid to run amok through your yard, teasing the cat, eating your daisies! BAH humbug!!
B-)

"Nice pp work!!"

You seem to enjoy this stuff, Pierre! Very good pp work. Too bad this poor person couldn't grab on to your frame to save herself......
Cheers

Hi Pierre,
I actually believed the note until I saw the second part!
Very good idea. I like how you can see the arm under water, not just sticking it in the hole. Great frame. TFS

Salut Pierre,

You do have a sick mind Pierre :). Excellent PP work and quite convincing. TFS,

Great effect Pierre! Love the color & whirlpool! The arm adds a touch of something! Still glad you liked the moon shot, I should have added that was the tail end of my clydesdale photos! Hi Pierre,
Getting the picture of the whirlpool was a great capture. I really enjoy your story too.
I am very glad that the lighting of the arm was not the same as the lighting in the pool. I might have worried that you really lost someone in the poll. Hahaha.

Clive
