[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note

No, no need to rub your eyes, that bird is not black and does not have red shoulders. It is the female and she doesn't look at all like the male whose photo was posted recently. This one was in the feeding action because of the insect in her bill. I posted a photo of the male in the workshop.

I proceeded to an important crop and USM

Hope you like

Ciao Serge

Looks like a proud guy indeed..!
A fine pose has been recorded, and with superb details:
Great sharpness in plumage as well as the head,
a pleasant glimpse in the eye too...
A well balanced composition with good depth,
lovely colours!

Great capture, sharp and beautful pose
Well done

Beautiful capture of this blackbird which I think in a process of building a nest. Nicely framed with great pov and dof with crisp details. Wonderful colors. Well done, tfs.

Hello Serge,
Yes, I do like it very much. And it is more than a very beautiful pose, there is some activity which enhances the image. Very well done. A pleasure to view.

Hi Serge,
Another fine capture, this time of the female Red-winged Blackbird.
Perfect details with the correct light management. Nice WS demonstrating the difference between the male and the female.
Good job showing the bird feeding!
My best regards,

Francis Xavier

Hi Serge,

This is excellent, the bokeh in the background is beautiful. I'm always on the lookout for either a male or female perched on a reed or some marsh grass, but they're usually too far away. Excellent sharpness and placement of the bird. I remember the first time I saw a female RW I thought it was a large sparrow of some type.

Best regards,

Great timing for a fantastic shot Werge. Wonderful pose, color and sharp detail against a great blurred bg. Beautiful presentation! Well done. TFS, Lori
