A little Marina in South Surrey, at an old Heritage Site. The sun was setting, the boaters were heading in for the day, and we had just tied up to the wharf. It was a beautiful day with lots of afternoon sunshine. Couldn't ask for a nicer autumn day on the water.
If you have time let me know what you think....I would like to know your honest opinons.
Thanks Liz

Hi Liz,I do love the reflections of the boat in the water, the sky wasn't that beautiful to look at probably because it was desaturated. If you could alter the sky color but the color of the boat remain. It would probably show the sunny weather..JMHO. Still, this is a nice shot. Regards, Flo

Liz, I do love this photo...it is so serene. however, I wish the clouds in the sky were a little smoother. The lines just seem harsh compared to the bottom of the photo. I like the way the boats aren't centered, also. Even with the "hard" clouds, I think you did a good job.

Very nice. A good landscape shot, but I would recommend cropping off the top (above the clouds) to give this a more dramatic framing. Cheers!

Well Liz, I think this is a fine shot. Your composition is fine with the line of boats at thirds, and leaving a great deal of space to show their environment. Well done!

I have 2 remarks though: the horizon is tilted, and perhaps for shots of sunniness it is best to keep that color in the picture.
Just for fun I have uploaded a variant on the picture as a workshop

great shot Liz, like the composition very much, just a pitty about tilted horizon here ..but otherwise it is great..Wout did a great job i think to ..

Great shot Liz, but as a couple have said before me the horizon is tilted. Otherwise a great picture.
Thanks for sharing,

This one brings back memories Liz - we walked by here many times when we lived in White Rock.

As others have commented - the horizon could do with leveling. In PhotoShop, use the measuring tool and align it with the horizon as is. Then go to Image>Rotate>Arbitrary and you will find the exact rotation has been calculated for you!

I like the B&W treatment but might have tried for a little more contrast and cropped oout a bit of the sky. It's a beautiful view.

This is a beautiful view, Liz. One of the hardest things for me to learn is to watch out for the "tilt" especially when taking views of water with the horizon. I learned here on TL that the horizon is always level with ocean or water views...Other than that tiny tidbit, this is a very relazing and calming composition... :O)

A very nice B/W shot Liz !
Nice composition too.
(perhaps it could be shot a little bit more lower down)

superbe!!! vraiment jolie photo, incroyable la netteté de l'eau ! j'adore les paysage noir/blanc
naturelo, un point en commun apparement : nature!
